Another hero in this chain of miracles aboard the flight from Dubai is Shota Musaev.
Shota is a dentist and was the only doctor on board. He was one of three passengers who rushed into the cockpit and stopped the terrorist. Together, they tied the attacker’s hands and feet with headphone cables.
Shota then stopped the bleeding of the severely wounded captain, Smith Machhar.
According to Saudi doctors, the captain would have died if it hadn’t been for Shota’s actions.
I think after this story, you can choose this dentist without even checking his Google reviews.

¿Tengo derecho a que me moleste que medio mundo ponga @Harvard en sus credenciales después de hacer un curso de semanas?
Yo me gané tres becas para poder estudiar una maestría de dos años en Harvard. Estudié muchísimo para entrar y muchísimo más para graduarme. Trabajé para sostenerme. Fueron dos años de clases, papers, exámenes, lecturas y conferencias.
Y aun así tengo clarísimo que una maestría no es lo mismo que haber hecho el pregrado allí. Mis respetos infinitos a quienes hicieron su BA o BS en Harvard. Eso sí es brutalmente competitivo y exigente.
Por eso me emputa un poquito ver “Harvard” en letras grandes porque alguien hizo un curso ejecutivo de una semana o un programa virtual.
No digo que no valga. Claro que vale.
Digo que no es lo mismo haber estudiado en Harvard que haber tomado un curso.
Y las credenciales deberían decirlo con la misma claridad.
Pd. aplica para muchas universidades prestigiosas en Colombia y el exterior.

Hay que ser muy inseguro y mediocre para ver en Daniela Ibáñez de la Puente a una amenaza radical. Si con algo le amenaza “esta señorita” (!?), es con restarle audiencia, chamba y yapes a punta de análisis sensato e inteligente.
Amenaza radical es relativizar a organizaciones terroristas y sus fachadas o brazos políticos.
Quien se esconde tras la libertad de prensa para desinformar, conspirar y dividir no es más que un cobarde.
Quien disfraza de periodismo su activismo politico pero no sabe ni dónde está Manchay, carece de autoridad para pontificar.
Sr Sifuentes disculpe por romperle la burbuja, pero creo que el modesto alcance que pueda tener es producto del orden espontáneo. Ojalá entienda la referencia :)! This may be the most incredible detail of the entire story.
Reuters has reported that the pilot who was stabbed aboard FlyDubai Flight FZ 1073 manually released the lock on the cockpit door while he was lying on the floor.
That pilot’s name is Captain Smit Machchhar.
FOX: “The wounded pilot, listen to this, covered with blood and lying on the floor, had clicked open the release of the cockpit door.”
“A second set of pilots on board who were due to replace the first pair, landed the plane.”
“A pilot who had just been stabbed, had the wherewithal to open that cockpit door. This man can be described as none other than a hero.”
That decision allowed the replacement pilots to reach the cockpit and take control of the aircraft.
His heroic actions likely saved the the lives of every passenger on board.

My husband is a pilot.
He said pilots have a switch right next to them that unlocks the cockpit door from the inside.
So Captain Smit Machchhar probably didn’t just scream for help. He likely hit that switch before he went down, so the flight attendants and passengers could actually get in.
If the door stays locked, nobody saves that plane.
Kudos to him. That one move helped save a cabin full of people.
