Norovirus is common, highly infectious, can cause serious and unpleasant illness, closes hospital wards especially over winter and is a risk to care homes.
A norovirus vaccine, if effective, would be a major step forward. Thank you to those taking part in and running this trial
An innovative #norovirus vaccine #ClinicalTrial will open across the UK over the next 2 weeks. Despite being one of the most common and infectious causes of diarrhoea & vomiting, there aren't yet any licensed vaccines anywhere in the world 💉

This is an important step by the CDC. As we enter into flu season we will need significantly increased test capacity. We also need to speed up #H5N1 confirmation. Very positive step here.
CDC is working with E-TrueNorth & Walgreens on a new pilot program to provide #flu testing of symptomatic people in CA & 1 other state that have confirmed #H5N1 bird flu infections. The program will increase testing of people for seasonal flu and triaged for H5 testing, if needed. Read more: bit.ly/3Yi8FSS

How does false news affect animal health? In emergencies such as disease outbreaks, humanitarian crises and natural hazards, accurate information is critical to ensuring effective response and minimize harm. But the rapid spread of misinformation during these high-stakes situations can undermine efforts to protect human and animal populations, amplifying vulnerabilities in several ways.
