Opera is one of the great national creative assets. So much in Britain is broken. Opera is nearly broken but must be repaired. @TheRoyalOpera @glyndebourne My speech @UKHouseofLords 10/12/24

Privilege to have met your dad Anna and very much looking forward to hearing Tranquil Abiding again, beautiful work
My dad would have been 85 today. Tranquil Abiding, one of his pieces, will be performed @bbcproms this August. I'm so proud and wish he could be there sitting next to me. Instead his children and grandchildren will be going to listen, marvel and remember. Happy Birthday Dad.💙
Agree completely Goldsmiths ‘Department of Music has been ahead of the game in establishing a mix of subject emphases – contemporary composition and performance, popular music, history, sonic arts, social (and social justice) concerns’
Excellent statement from RMA in support of Goldsmiths music department.
