Random Mexican League Guy time!

I would agree that 2018 was more interesting than any other Red Sox World Series of this century. Still less interesting than the Houston series in the previous round for me, however. That homer was sick though; I remember exactly where I was- Amherst Brewing Company for a rehearsal dinner. Flew home to MA from a work trip in Toronto the night before, flew back to Toronto 24 hours later.

One of the funnier things about every Red Sox Championship team of my lifetime is that the ALCS easily overshadowed the World Series each time. A mix of really good League Championships and anticlimactic finals. 2004 vs Yankees- Legendary, generational comeback. 2007 vs Indians- Came back from 1-3 deficit, only seems less impressive by comparison to 2004 2013 vs Tigers- "David Ortiz, David Ortiz, David Ortiz!!!!" 2018 vs Astros- That game with the Benintendi catch was way more interesting than anything that happened in the WS other than the 18-inning game which the Red Sox actually lost.

I remember every Red Sox World Series matchup of my lifetime vividly, but those were also significant years for me personally. Or maybe they feel significant because the Red Sox were in the World Series. Then again, I remember the 2016 Cubs–Indians Series, the 2000 Yankees–Mets Series, and the 2001 Yankees–Diamondbacks Series pretty clearly too. Maybe it just depends on the year. Memory is a funny thing.
