Millenials are teaming up with zoomers to cut off boomer welfare in 4 years and ending the gerontocracy once and for all, we are not turning around and eating our young like the boomers did. We’re throwing the ring into the volcano.

Finally, I am happy to call the textures done. I spent the last 4 days basically camped into substance painter to finish this. I really like the end result this time, as opposed to previous ones. Next thing is working on the fur! Viewport render in Blender Cycles. #b3d

Glad you asked!
1) LLMs are created by scraping all the art and writing off the internet without creator’s compensation or consent, allowing companies to make billions of stolen labor
2) This tech allows companies to then fire the very employees whose work they stole. It’s like taking your blood and using it to power your robot replacement
3) The resulting auto-generated plagiarism slurry can be extremely realistic, allowing companies, governments, scammers etc to create an infinite deluge of propaganda, fake evidence, scams, revenge porn, and addictive meaningless slop flooding our eyes from cradle to grave, a kind of reality-obliterating internet pollution at a scale beyond human comprehension.
4) That’s not even counting the massive electricity drain of the server farms that are gobbling up land and the impending economic crash when the so called “abundance” promised by Silicon Valley vultures never meets their impossible promises.
LLMs are to societal trust what toxic runoff is to drinking water. And just like the pollution that comes from Exxon Mobile, this disaster is only possible when the government abdicates its regulatory responsibility because it’s been bought off by the CEOs responsible
TLDR:
PROS: You can make Judy Hopps make out with Martin Luther King
CONS: Mass unemployment, the death of reality, a permanent underclass addicted to a digital meth slot machine

Just finished B&T VP9. Experimented with Plasticity + Marmoset bevels for the high-poly.
Thanks to @EdGreig_ for suggesting the Marmoset bevel workflow.

Here is a crazy idea: hire entry level people and actually train them so they become skilled at the job
Ford, $F, CEO has said that he has 5,000 open mechanic jobs with 6-figure salaries from the shortage of manually skilled workers: ‘We are in trouble in our country’

Okay, first of all. Anyone shitting on this guy is the purest form of cancer. He had an extremely challenging idea in mind and instead of running to gen ai like a little baby, he picked up the pen and gave it his best. Put some fucking respect on his name.
If you are an artist in this position, the only real piece of practical advice here is just DON'T. Extreme high/low angles are a nightmare at any skill level. They are like hands, they never get easier. Tackling them early on will just leave you discouraged. Learn to tackle flatter angles first, build up your fundamentals. Don't rush Cthulhu with a wooden sword

Over these next few years it's going to become more and more important that you resist letting slop consume you.
Keep creating. Keep learning. Keep thinking.

Instead of playing the Battlefield 6 BETA (which I thoroughly enjoyed!) during all my free time this weekend, I finally pushed myself myself to call this project complete.
These models are special to me because they are the first personal work culmination of probably the biggest workflow change up I've ever done since I started doing this stuff.
Switching from all Sub-D modeling and UV work in 3Ds Max to CAD modeling in Plasticity, game resolution cleanup and UV work in Blender, and Marmoset Toolbag 5 Bevel Shader baking workflow was no small feat for this old dog. But I am glad to have done it.
Plasticity has been an absolute joy to learn, and I really don't miss doing old school Sub-D work much at all. The Marmoset Toolbag 5 bevel shader feels like cheating in the best way possible. I have also taken quite a liking to blender as well, even though I am an old timer and have to use industry standard hotkeys, hehe.

Make art. Make bad art. Make art for yourself. Share your art. Your real, authentic work made by a human being. I can't stress enough how important this is, now more than ever.

If you use ai you intellectually and mentally lazy. That’s all. You are lazy.
Ai makes art free. No. AI robs you of learning how to do something. In learning how to do something you develop your voice. You are asking ai to speak for you because you are too lazy to face yourself

Mixing and matching the bevel shader and sub-ds in @marmosetco Toolbag 5. The pump uses sub-d and the rest is sloppy booleans with bevels. Super fast to work like this. No UVs, only tri-planar materials from the library.
