🚨 Jesus Owono ‘I’m Truly Sorry After Accidental Challenge Claims Miguel’s Life: "My heart is heavy beyond words right now. My phone has been ringing nonstop, filled with messages, and I kept asking myself what was happening only to learn the devastating news that Miguel has passed away. This tragedy stems from the incident on the football pitch, when my knee made contact with his chest during a challenge. I need the world to hear this clearly: I am truly and deeply sorry. No apology, no matter how sincere or repeated, can ever bring Miguel back. That reality is something I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Football is a physical game. As a player, my only intention in that moment was to stop the opposition from scoring and protect my team’s goal. What happened was never meant to harm Miguel. It was a pure football accident one that none of us could have predicted would end this way. Since the news broke, I have been receiving threats and harsh messages. Still, nothing anyone says can match the pain I already feel. I am devastated. Right now I am not sure I will ever be able to step onto a professional pitch again, because I do not know if I will ever fully heal from knowing that my action, however unintentional, led to this loss. It is heartbreaking to live with the knowledge that I was involved in the moment that took Miguel from us. The pain is real, deep, and constant. To Miguel’s family, friends, teammates, and everyone who loved him: I am so sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you. May his memory be a blessing, and may he rest in peace."
