A long shot, but: Are you, or is someone you know, an organist in/around Cambridge who is free at 7pm tonight? Please let me know if so, and spread the word if not!

I don’t hate the CW lectionary as much as some of you do, but I have to say, when there are already five columns of readings to navigate it’s not on to have a choice of two readings within a column. Just tell me the reading that I must read in the service

Greater accountability to somebody (but we don't know whom) is, I would suggest, not a sensible way to conduct a debate.

A number of years ago, I made “go to church regularly” my New Year’s Resolution. It was the best and most successful New Year’s Resolution I’ve made and genuinely changed the course of my life (in a good way!). Highly recommended if you’re wondering what your resolution should be

If you’re a guy in your early 20s, buy a copy of “The Order of Vespers throughout the Year from the Salisbury Use, translated into English & adapted to The Original Musick-Note by the Rev. G. H. Palmer, Mus. Doc.” Go into debt if you have to.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but there’s no law that says you have to close the M25 every single time I need to use it

I don’t know why there’s lectionary discourse but I am begging people in ministry to understand that the faithful are meant also to read their Bibles *outside* of Mass and it’s our job to encourage, facilitate and nurture that continued Bible reading

I have had a sudden epiphany (yes, wrong season I know) and I am now fully converted to the use of Advent Blue.

Pro-euthanasia people often seem to think that the religious position is “the will of God that these people suffer 😈” but I’ve not met a single colleague who thinks that. We oppose it because “not being a burden on the NHS” has been a Core British Value since our grandparents

Why do people who comment on education policy think the only options are “nobody may learn facts, only out-of-context skills as an end in themselves” or “children should exclusively learn lists of facts by rote”? What if there’s a secret middle ground we haven’t considered 🙄

In the pub the other night and a drunk football fan discovers I’m a priest, says he’s started going to church and starts asking me about the relationship between (1) faith and belief and (2) Christianity and OT Law. How do we expect people to minister w/out theol training?
