Chelsea Eng 5 Station following the fire of 1973 The area is destroyed and building damaged but it remained in service .

Today is the anniversary of the Chelsea fire of 1973. The fire consumed 18 blocks of the city. Located in center of fire area was Eng 5 Station where firefighters made a stand to save the station . Unfortunately the politicians closed it just a few years later.
