Ukraine has been a corrupt slush fund for the western political elite for thirty years. Anyone who doesn’t understand that is too stupid to have an opinion on Russia.
Prayers up for @KeithMalinak 🙏

DO IT AT A UFC EVENT
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has recommended — and President Donald J. Trump has approved — death by U.S. Army firing squad for convicted terrorist Nidal Malik Hasan, the jihadist who opened fire on unarmed American soldiers at Fort Hood in 2009. He killed 13 people and wounded 32 others while shouting “Allahu Akbar” during the attack.
The Secretary of the Army will set the time and place of the execution. Judgement day for Hasan has finally come.

NYRA racing office just told me they are canceling Saturday and Sunday. Running on Wednesday. Stakes to be rescheduled with announcement shortly.
Hate on Monmouth Park, if you must. They have free parking on Haskell Day and reserved seats start at $5.

Pet peeve: people who jump on a social media post to lecture everyone on an unrelated subject. If you want to talk about something else, start your own thread. End of rant.
Scott Bessent is a national treasure.
In her latest sciolistic letter to me, @SenWarren made it clear that she knows even less about foreign exchange markets than she does about banking.
What is equally shocking, but not surprising: not a single member of the media mob has a rudimentary-enough level of financial market literacy to spot her remedial error.
To reiterate: under @POTUS, the United States delivers for America’s trusted partners.
For a fuller explanation, I recommend Senator Warren take any entry level course in international finance for her and her staff, or I can personally give her a tutorial on Foreign Exchange for Dummies. Although I am not holding my breath, I hope her next letter will demonstrate that she has learned the difference between a currency purchase and a swap or a loan.

Bush was right.
And he's the only American president in history that provided a plan that would've permanently fixed Social Security. Nobody else has come close. – at Hilliard, OH
In 2001 George W Bush proposed a partial privatization plan for Social Security so you could put 10% of your SS contribution into the markets.
People rejected this.
We can now see that if it had passed, the 10% that went into the markets would have outperformed the 90% the government managed, the program would be solvent, and the average SS recipient would be receiving 2X what they currently receive.
The worst bet you’ll ever make is betting on government.
The water from The Big Red Spring is not nearly as noxious as it’s been in years past. The people who were looking for a reaction from us on Jim Dandy day were disappointed.🤷♀️

Yep, the nordic system doesn’t finance itself by taxing the rich (the math doesn’t work) but by putting much more of all of their money (esp from the middle class) in a collective pot, getting more social services, and less disposable income out of it. Fine, that’s their trade-off. But the scam constantly sold here by the left, and increasingly parts of the right, is we can have all the goodies the state provides in Denmark without radically taking away lots of disposable income and voluntary choice of what to spend it on from the non-rich.
Discussed by us at least here and here:

The Nordic system isn't a free lunch. It relies on a very heavy middle-class tax burden to function.
Nordic middle earners face ~35-40% income tax plus a 25% VAT, taking nearly half their total earnings after spending. The US middle class taxes ~20% on income and ~6-7% on sales.
The US could fund the same programs, but we choose higher disposable income because...freedom.
