Well, here it is. My heart on my sleeve. The albums that defined 2024.
What an INCREDIBLE year for music.

I wrote these lists right before the holidays and then got sick before I could promo them. Please take a look at the music that moved me to my soul this year.

I have a feeling this is one of those interviews we'll look back on and say "we knew this artist when..." #folk #songwriter #newmusic #emergingartist

Let's talk about work flow:
-as bloggers, we get a lot of submissions every day, usually between 40-60 new tracks every day
-the best way to ensure that we listen to your music is to send it on SubmitHub
-if you email your music or message us privately, we may not get to it 1/3
-if it's in our submission feed, we will get to it but we may not approve it
-the art of curation means that we have to say no to many so we can feature the few we believe in
-our current approval rate is around 6%
-that means we average around 350 subs and cover 21

There is so much good music in the world, y'all. I mean there's a lot of bad music too, but the good music more than makes up for it.
I listen to new music every day. I write about it several times a week. I still can't get enough. LOVE
For those of you looking for a nice #chillplaylist, please consider this #coffeeshopplaylist that we curate. It's on Spotify as well, but we're bringing it to YouTube now thanks to the magic of @submit_hub. Consider spinning and subbing?

If you haven't yet discovered the incomparable @theokandel, please do take a moment to listen to this one. Theo is a rising star in #folk music.

Our articles don't auto share here anymore, but sometimes I pop on and share a few recent ones. Check them out if you like #newmusic and today especially I'm sharing a lot of #folk music.

If you're a fan of indie pop, I highly recommend this playlist. But also it's just so fun to go back and listen to these submissions from the past six months. AMAZING talent. FFO dodie, Lizzy McAlpine, etc.

Halfway through the year and we have a nice list of "song of the year" candidates going... but album of the year is lacking.
What #album has you floored this year? Genre be durned... tell me an album that is defining 2024 for you.
