I remind myself daily that the Church Triumphant is glorious and the Church Suffering is luminous, but the Church Militant is mostly a stumbling 💩 show. Faith imo has to come from the will and Grace because if you let it be ruled by emotions it will die under that smelly heap.

"Go to the 10:00 a.m. Mass." She said. "It'll be more quiet." she said. Then I walked into the Cardinal's annual Memorial Mass for police and paramedics. I went to the snooty cathedral because the nice parish only has confessions for about 10 minutes a week. Still waited in line for an hour and a half and spent Mass standing. This was a good thing because I was able to avoid the pushy ushers. The line was only a dozen deep when I got there but too many people take too much time. Poor priest was literally hoarse.

While editing a photo of the Blessed Sacrament, content creator Maik Vélez received an unexpected surprise. The artificial intelligence in his photo-editing app identified the Host in the monstrance as a person. Vélez explained that the AI normally detects human shapes such as a head, arms, or feet. Yet no matter which photo he used from that moment, the program consistently marked a person at the very center of the monstrance. “As you can see, the little icon shows that there’s a person there,” he said. The discovery left him speechless. While technical explanations may exist, Vélez saw the moment through the eyes of faith: “For me, it’s very telling that this is Jesus, alive and real, in that monstrance.” The video of the experience quickly went viral. Many viewers shared similar stories of facial-recognition software detecting a face during the elevation of the Host or chalice. Comments echoed the same wonder: “Even AI knows that Jesus is alive here.” The episode has become a quiet, modern invitation to reflect more deeply on the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Checkmate, Protestants….🇻🇦

For context, Danny Williams was the premier of the province at the time. I love Newfoundland so much.

This is correct. If your hands are full you nod or bow. If the light is yellow, you pick up your pace. If you can't pick up your pace, affect an obvious limp.

With my doctor on leave it was @Grok AI that identified a dangerous misdiagnosis in my medical chart. When her locum refused to help, it was Grok who showed me where to report medical record errors, located a PDF of the submission form, showed me three ways to submit them, and wrote me the cover letter. Without Grok I probably would have trustingly walked into a dangerous invasive procedure I didn't need because a specialist didn't listen to me and copy/pasted something off of somebody else's chart. Mere words cannot express the degree to which my trust in @UnityHealthTO has been utterly lost. Thank you Grok.

@grok what does it mean if Cardassians are my absolutely favorite Star Trek aliens? It's okay if it's slightly disturbing. I can take it.

Everybody loves a good episode of "Mayday!"
A passenger who entered the cockpit during the attack aboard a flydubai flight to Israel told Netanyahu he pulled back on the controls to help stop the aircraft’s dive, adding that watching the television series “Air Crash Investigation” had helped him understand what to do.

Today's fun fact: the word Gemini is generally pronounced with the last syllable rhyming with "eye" unless it's the space program of the early '60s in which case it's properly pronounced GeminEE. Those crazy Southerners in Houston and Huntsville insisted.

True story: My grandfather bought his house for a dollar. It's post-war2 and the city is selling quarter acre lots on the edge of town for a dollar each. Grandad (Greatest Gen not Boomer) said "here's your dollar." The land came with a condition. Have a habitable home in one year or you forfeit the land. Grandad was working full-time and had no building experience but tsk details details. He worked all week, and on the weekend bought whatever supplies he could afford and worked on the house. By the end of the first year he had dug the basement, poured the foundations, and laid the main floor. He wasn't going to lose his dollar though. So he and three of his kids moved in. That's how my mother spent one winter living in an unfinished underground bunker on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. I think they had power but I'm not sure about plumbing. That was a weird amateur jerry-built house that I grew up in years later, but the whole neighborhood was like that so we fit in. So Millennials and Zoomers: "Oh noes where is my free house?" Go build one, fool. Yes your reality sucks. So did mine. So did theirs. Figure it out.
