In 2008, Nigeria handed over a piece of its territory to Cameroon. The people who lived there were not consulted. They were relocated to resettlement camps and told to start over. I am their pastor. This is what 15 years in the forgotten place has taught me. The Bakassi Peninsula was ceded following a 2002 International Court of Justice ruling. Overnight, Nigerian citizens became strangers in their own country. Fishermen lost their waters. Families lost their homes. A whole community lost its identity. The government called it diplomacy. The people called it betrayal. I didn't arrive here as an outsider with a project. I came as a pastor — planting a church, burying the dead, counselling the displaced, writing grant proposals by phone light when there was no electricity. Bakassi didn't give me a theory about poverty. It gave me a front-row seat. What I've witnessed has shaped everything I write and believe: aid that creates dependency instead of dignity; faith communities functioning as the only institution still standing; young people with enormous potential that policy cannot see; broken government promises calcifying into generational cynicism. Sound familiar? It should. It's most of Africa. The paradox of Bakassi is this — a people stripped of almost everything still build churches, educate their children, and believe God has not forgotten them. That resilience is not ignorance. It is a theology the world has not yet heard. I write about systems, institutions, faith, and leadership — not from a Lagos office or a Western university, but from a resettlement community where those ideas are tested daily against actual human suffering. I'm Saviour Eyosa. Pastor. Author. Builder. Bakassi, Cross River State, Nigeria. Follow if you want ideas forged in real conditions.

Segun Showunmi's warning is real, but his legal claim is not. It conflates two very different things: declaring yourself the winner (which can be unlawful) and independently collating and transmitting results from polling units (which is lawful and routine). 📜 What Showunmi Actually Said Showunmi, a member of the Tinubu Campaign Council and a former ally of Atiku Abubakar, issued a video warning in mid-October 2026. He said anyone who announces their own results before INEC should be treated as committing treason, and cited MKO Abiola's imprisonment after the annulled June 12, 1993 election as a cautionary tale. ⚖️ The Legal Distinction He Ignored Legal experts immediately pushed back, and their argument is straightforward. Chidi Odinkalu, former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, rejected the treason claim outright. He pointed out that political parties are entitled under law to deploy agents to collect polling-unit results. He referenced the 1983 Ondo State election, where agents of Obafemi Awolowo and Michael Ajasin collected Form EC8A result sheets—and that was not treason. Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), former NBA President, made a similar point: INEC's authority to declare official results does not prevent others from publishing results already in the public domain. The distinction is simple: Lawful Potentially Unlawful Collecting Form EC8A from polling units Declaring yourself the winner of the election Transmitting results to your party's situation room Claiming INEC's statutory authority to announce results Publishing figures already recorded and announced at polling units Announcing figures that were never recorded at any polling unit Peter Obi's plan falls squarely in the first column. His campaign has said it will operate a "dual transmission" system: results will go to INEC's designated portal and to the party's situation room, so the party can compare what was recorded at polling units with what INEC eventually declares. NDC chieftain Victor Umeh clarified that party agents would transmit results only after they had been counted, declared, and entered in the prescribed forms. That is not a parallel declaration. It is independent documentation. 🎭 The Political Irony There is an uncomfortable detail that Showunmi's warning ignores. Reports indicate that Oluyemi Titilayo Adeyemi-Showunmi, his wife, was appointed by President Tinubu as Director of Electoral Operations at INEC. So the man warning that opposition parties will be jailed for monitoring results is married to a senior INEC official. That does not make his legal argument wrong by itself—but it does explain why his intervention is being read as political rather than legal. 🧠 Why This Matters for 2027 The real issue is not whether Obi can "declare himself winner." He cannot, and he has not said he will. The issue is whether citizens and parties can document what happened at polling units and compare it to what INEC announces. Showunmi's warning, if taken seriously, would criminalise that documentation. It would make it risky for parties to keep their own records. And it would leave INEC's official figures as the only permissible version of events—even if those figures contradict what was recorded at the polling units. That is not a defence of electoral law. It is a defence of electoral opacity. 💎 The Bottom Line Showunmi's "treason" claim is legally unsound. Collecting and transmitting polling-unit results is not the same as declaring yourself president. The law recognises the difference, and so should the public debate. Obi's plan is not a plot to rig the election. It is a plan to verify it. And the people warning against verification are not protecting democracy. They are protecting the space in which manipulation happens. Ire o. ✌🏾

The Book of Enoch (specifically 1 Enoch, or the "Ethiopic Enoch") provides a much more detailed and vivid account of the Watchers' transgression than the brief narrative in Genesis 6. It directly addresses the mechanics of how spirit beings could engage in sexual acts, offering a framework that early Jewish and Christian readers used to interpret the "sons of God" passage. 📜 The Watchers' Nature: Spirits Who Assumed Flesh The Book of Enoch is explicit that the Watchers were, by nature, spirits. In God's rebuke to them, He declares: "And though ye were holy, spiritual, living the eternal life, you have defiled yourselves with the blood of women, and have begotten (children) with the blood of flesh, and, as the children of men, have lusted after flesh and blood as those also do who die and perish" (1 Enoch 15:4). This confirms that their original state was non-corporeal and immortal. However, the text also describes them as "the angels, the children of the heaven" who "saw and lusted after" the daughters of men and resolved: "'Come, let us choose us wives from among the children of men and beget us children'" (1 Enoch 6:2-3). To accomplish this, they descended to Mount Hermon and "began to go in unto them and to defile themselves with them" (1 Enoch 7:1). The text assumes that these spirit beings could manifest in a physical form capable of sexual intercourse, a capacity also implied in Genesis 18-19 where angels appear as men and eat food. 🐎 The "Stallion Phallus": A Graphic Image of Transgression The most direct reference to angelic sex organs comes from a later section of 1 Enoch, the Animal Apocalypse (1 Enoch 85-90). This section uses allegory, depicting the Watchers as stars that descend. The text describes them as "stallion-phallused stars" — beings whose sexual organs are likened to those of horses. The narrative invokes the simile "they let out their phalluses like stallions" three times, a deliberate and shocking image that emphasizes the aggressive, violent, and transgressive nature of their sexual acts. This imagery is not a biological description of angelic anatomy but a theological and literary device. It portrays their desire as uncontrolled, beast-like, and foreign to the heavenly order. The "stallion phallus" highlights that their act was a violent boundary-crossing, an exertion of power and lust that defiled both themselves and the human women. ⛔ The Purpose of the Act: Rebellion, Not Creation According to 1 Enoch, the Watchers' sex organs were not created for procreation within God's design. Their use was a misuse of a form they assumed. God's judgment makes this clear: "I have not appointed wives for you; for as for the spiritual ones of the heaven, in heaven is their dwelling" (1 Enoch 15:7). This verse is a direct parallel to Matthew 22:30, where Jesus says the resurrected will be "like the angels in heaven" who "neither marry nor are given in marriage." The Book of Enoch thus provides the theological backdrop: marriage and sexual reproduction are earthly institutions for mortal humans, not heavenly ones for immortal spirits. The Watchers' sin was not simply lust; it was rebellion against the created order. They "left the high, holy, and eternal heaven" (1 Enoch 15:3) to "do like the children of earth" (1 Enoch 15:3), deliberately crossing the boundary between spirit and flesh. Their purpose was to satisfy lust and produce offspring (the Nephilim/giants), an act that 1 Enoch describes as "defiling themselves" (1 Enoch 7:1; 15:3). 📖 The Offspring: A Hybrid Corruption The union produced giants of enormous height (1 Enoch 7:2), who became violent and cannibalistic, devouring humanity and one another (1 Enoch 7:3-5). After their death, their disembodied spirits became evil spirits that continue to afflict humanity (1 Enoch 15:8-12). This offspring is a corruption of both angelic and human nature—a "bastard" race born from an illicit union.
FOR DEEP THINKERS Are there groups of angels with sex organs? If YES, what were those sex organs created for, since angels are not given in marriage? - Matthew 22:30 If your answer is NO, then how were the angels in Genesis 6 able to have sex with the daughters of men and produce offspring? Give Scriptures and reasons for your answer. For deep thinkers.

This is one of the richest pieces of social documentation I have read in a long time. You did not interview anyone. You did not commission a poll. You simply listened on a bus ride, and what you captured is more revealing than any newspaper editorial. Let me sit with what those passengers said. 📉 The Economic Truth on the Bus The first speaker described something that should be a national scandal but is instead a normalized tragedy: the collapse of small trade. A man who once moved a trailer load of foodstuff from Adamawa to Aba for ₦1-2 million can no longer do so. The cost has multiplied beyond his reach. A bag of egusi is ₦300,000. A cup sells for ₦1,500. These are not abstract inflation figures. This is the destruction of the trading networks that connect the North to the South, the farm to the market, the producer to the consumer. When those networks collapse, food doesn't move. It stays where it was grown, and it spoils, and people go hungry in markets where food used to be abundant. The man is no longer in the business. That is what structural collapse looks like. 🎭 The Political Cynicism The passengers were not confused about what they were witnessing. One described Wike and Umahi's loyalty in blunt terms: they would rather die than let Tinubu lose. Another noted that Umahi's son became a local government chairman at 28 and is probably one of the wealthiest young men of his age in Ebonyi State. This is the language of people who have stopped expecting fairness from the political class. They are not debating policy. They are observing a system in which proximity to power determines wealth and position, regardless of merit. The conversation about who owns the road construction company — Tinubu's son, Umahi's son, Trump's son-in-law, Seyi Tinubu — is also revealing. Nobody knew the answer, but everyone had a version. In Nigeria, the conspiracy theories are often more plausible than the official denials because the patterns of patronage are so well-established. 🧂 The Salt and the Palm Oil Then came Alex Otti. One passenger said he is the best thing to happen to Abia State and wondered why other parties are even contesting. And then the proverb: "What you can lie to a blind man about is whether there is palm oil in the soup, not whether there is salt. He can taste the salt himself." This is a theory of political truth. It distinguishes between what can be hidden and what cannot. Salt is what you taste directly: the roads in your community, the doctor in your hospital, the teacher in your school, the price of food in your market. You do not need to be told whether things are working. You can taste it. Palm oil is what you cannot verify directly: who owns a construction company, how a contract was awarded, what happens in the collation centre. You can be lied to about these things because you have no direct access to the facts. The passengers understood that Otti was "salt." His governance is tangible. Roads are visible. Salaries are paid. Order is maintained. You don't need a press release to confirm it. 🧠 The Implication for 2027 If this bus ride is any indication, the political conversation in Nigeria is shifting. People are not discussing who has the best manifesto. They are discussing who they can trust, based on what they have tasted. Otti is "salt" in Abia. The question for 2027 is whether Peter Obi can be "salt" nationally — whether the Nigerian people will trust their own taste over the propaganda. The passengers on that bus are not political analysts. They are people trying to survive. But they understand something that the political class does not: you cannot lie to a man about what he can taste. Ire o. ✌🏾
On the bus from Aba to Port Harcourt, I found myself listening to a conversation among some of the passengers. One man said one of his suppliers used to be able to buy and transport a trailer load of foodstuff from Adamawa to Aba with just ₦1 million or ₦2 million. He is no longer in the business. According to him, the cost has now risen to several millions of naira. A bag of egusi alone is around ₦300,000, while a cup sells for about ₦1,500. Then the conversation turned to politics. “Wike and Umahi said that instead of Tinubu not to win, they would rather die,” one passenger said. “What we are experiencing now does not concern them.” Another spoke about David Umahi’s son, saying that at just 28, he had become a local government chairman in Ebonyi State and was probably one of the wealthiest young men of his age in the state. As we drove along the expressway, attention shifted to the road construction itself. One passenger claimed that the company handling the project belonged to President Tinubu’s son. Another quickly disagreed, insisting that it was David Umahi’s son’s company. A third offered an entirely different version: that the company was linked to Donald Trump’s son-in-law and that Seyi Tinubu was being used as a board member. Nobody seemed completely sure, but everyone had a version. Then came Abia politics. “Alex Otti is the best thing that has happened to Abia State,” one passenger said. “I wonder why the other parties are even contesting and making noise. Don’t they feel ashamed?” Then he added a proverb: “What you can lie to a blind man about is whether there is palm oil in the soup, not whether there is salt. He can taste the salt himself.”
