European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will visit Australia from March 23-25 to strengthen ties with a trusted partner in the vital Indo-Pacific region.
She will travel to Sydney and Canberra, and meet with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in the Australian capital.

On Friday, the seventh stop of the Horizon Europe Roadshow Australia 2026 filled the Shine Dome from the main floor to the balcony.
The remarkable turnout brought tremendous energy to the morning as participants explored Australia’s association to Horizon Europe, opportunities for participation and practical pathways for engaging with European partners and consortia.

Yesterday, participants came together for a morning focused on moving from awareness of Horizon Europe to practical preparation for participation.
The discussion covered Australia’s association and next steps, navigating the programme and application process, insights from Australian participation, and practical approaches to engaging with European partners and building or joining consortia.
The questions from the room reflected strong interest in what Australian organisations can do now to prepare for the opportunities ahead.

Yesterday, the Horizon Europe Roadshow Australia 2026 reached Perth for its third stop.
