✈️ ETF Civil Aviation on the move! Over the past two weeks, @ETF_Europe visited Vienna and Frankfurt to engage with aviation workers, works councils, and employers. These meetings gave us valuable insights into the key challenges the sector faces today. We heard about the impact of liberalisation on the quality and safety of ground handling, the strain of understaffing in air traffic management, and the growing concerns around fatigue and unruly passengers for aircrews. With employers, we discussed the urgent need for fair competition between European and non-European airlines to protect workers from the negative effects of an unlevel playing field. Collaboration between workers and employers as social partners is essential to address these issues and secure a stronger future for European civil aviation. A big thank you to @_verdi, @gemeinsam_vida, the works council at Austrian Airlines, Fraport, and Condor for the warm welcome and constructive discussions. ✊ Three days learning, sharing and building our future in Sofia! The ETF Youth Winter School gathered over 25 young transport workers from across Europe to discuss the future of the transport sector and their role in shaping it. Through engaging debates and training sessions, participants focused on trade union renewal, the fight against the far right, and embracing the diversity of the workforce, among other important topics. 💪 They shared ideas on how to strengthen unions, build inclusive workplaces, and stand united against forces that threaten workers' rights and democracy. 📢 By equipping young transport workers with knowledge and tools, we are paving the way for a stronger, more inclusive labour movement. 📢 Stronger EWCs, Better Workplaces, Competitive Europe! At the ETF Youth Winter School, young transport workers from across Europe are standing united with @etuc_ces, other Trade Union Federations, and over 45 million workers to call on the European Parliament (@Europarl_EN): 👉 Support the trilogue mandate for the Radtke report on revising the European Works Councils Directive. This revision is crucial to ensure workers’ rights are effective and enforceable. The Employment Committee’s endorsement must not be derailed by the far-right “Patriots for Europe.” Adopting the mandate will send a clear message: workers' voices matter, and their rights will be upheld in shaping Europe’s future. #StrongerTogether #EWCs #WorkersRights #WeAreETF
