Take it from me: Tomás rocks
MD/PhD student Tomás Rodríguez restarted @UMassChan’s Latino Medical Student Association chapter in 2020. He established the optional Medical Spanish elective in collaboration with students from all three schools. #HispanicHeritageMonth @trodriguezUMMS @UMassMDPhD @UMassChanSOM

As @grunewaju notes in his summary, @ESontheimerLab also published similar findings about split prime editors in @NatureBiotech earlier this year: nature.com/articles/s41587-0…. 7/7
Great stuff Keith! 👏
Excited that the latest @JoungLab paper describing split #CRISPR prime editors is out online @NatureBiotech today. This work was led by @grunewaju, Bret Miller, @ReganSzalay with co-authors Peter Cabeceiras, Chris Woodilla @elizajaneholtz @Karl_Petri nature.com/articles/s41587-0… 1/7

4/n We looked to Cas9 orthologs from other organisms as starting points. Nme2Cas9 from N meningitidis stood out. As characterized by @ESontheimerLab & others, this ortholog has natural activity on N4CC PAMs and (bonus for delivery!) is more compact than SpCas9 (1082aa vs 1368aa).

Check out our overview of strategies to clone and sequence small RNAs which is the cover of this months @Curr_Protocols designed by the extremely talented @NATrigg
The latest issue of CP is out!
The cover highlights an Overview by @OliviaJCrocker
@NATrigg & @ColinConine (@ChildrensPhila and @Penn), who discuss how to design small #RNA cloning workflows in eukaryotes to capture specific small RNAs of interest.
