ALT The SUNSTONE project, involving eight key European and Middle Eastern research infrastructures and organizations, with the Paul Scherrer Institut as an associate participant, is an ambitious initiative designed to reinforce the SESAME facility. The project aims to elevate SESAME's scientific capabilities, service provision, and status as an international hub of research and excellence. As part of SUNSTONE’s WP4, efforts will focus on enhancing SESAME’s user services in four significant ways to deliver an exceptional service experience to its scientific community. A crucial component is the reinforcement of user services at the beamline level with additional resources. These resources (two postdoc fellow positions) will offer expert advice on experiment design, hands-on training, data treatment, and data analysis support to beamline users in SESAME’s strategic areas of infra-red spectromicroscopy and soft X-ray spectroscopy.

ALT This project involves eight key European and Middle Eastern research infrastructures and organizations, with the Paul Scherrer Institut as an associate participant. The main goal of SUNSTONE is to ensure the sustained consolidation of SESAME, a pivotal research infrastructure serving eight member countries—Cyprus, Egypt, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Pakistan, Palestine, and Turkey—while extending its focus towards Africa. SUNSTONE aims to enhance SESAME's scientific capabilities, service provision, and standing as an international hub of research and excellence.
