Today the 12th session of the UN Open-Ended Working Group on TNCs & Human Rights kicks off in Geneva, and we are taking part.
From 2014's resolution 26/9 to now, it has been 12 years of pushing for a legally binding instrument to regulate transnational corporations.
We call for a treaty that:
▪︎Puts rights holders at the centre
▪︎Ensures mandatory human rights due diligence
▪︎Guarantees access to justice across borders
▪︎Holds parent companies liable
A treaty without strong remedy is not a treaty at all.

Human Rights Watch, el American Friends Service Committee, el Center for Constitutional Rights y el Open Society Institute, han presentado una demanda contra la Orden Ejecutiva 14203 de la administración de Trump y las sanciones relacionadas con la CPI.
Los gobiernos deberían dar un paso al frente para proteger a la CPI y a quienes buscan justicia ante ella.

Hoy se reúnen la Organización Fraternal Negra Hondureña (@ofraneh) y la Corte Suprema de Justicia de Honduras.
Espero que este diálogo permita identificar e implementar garantías de protección a las personas y comunidades defensoras de la tierra y el territorio, en particular el cese de los desalojos y de la criminalización de las personas defensoras de la comunidad garífuna de San Juan.
Son personas defensoras quienes, individual o colectivamente, actúan para promover, proteger o esforzarse por la protección y realización de los derechos humanos, los Estados deben garantizar que puedan hacerlo libres de estigmatización y criminalización.
Defender el territorio es ejercer ese derecho. Estaré atenta a los resultados.

Hoy 10 de Agosto, la OFRANEH, nos instalamos en forma indefinida frente a la Corte Suprema de Justicia de Tegucigalpa, exigiendo justicia y cierre definitivo de la causa contra nuestros compañeros y compañera de San Juan; Deinor Mejia, Onil Fernandez, Hirvin Lopez, Sara Acosta y Carlos Fernandez. No son criminales, no son delincuentes. La comunidad de San Juan cuenta con una sentencia condenatoria de la Corte IDH. Warner Vallecillo, debe cerrar ese caso, hoy son 34 dias desde que venimos presentando acciones legales ante diferentes instancias de justicia y no hay respuesta. Exigimos pronta solución a los recursos presentados!!
Exigimos cumplimiento de las sentencias de la Corte IDH, de las comunidades de Triunfo de la Cruz, Punta Piedra, San Juan y Cayos Cochinos!!!
