👏 We love the message on @NTCouncilTeam's bin wagons 👏 Electricals and batteries shouldn't be disposed of in your recycling or general waste bins as they can cause fires and be a risk to waste workers. You can learn more here: bit.ly/2HWc4lr #TakeCharge #Recycling

We're supporting the #zombiebatteries campaign. We've had two fires at our Waste Transfer Stations, believed to be caused by batteries in the waste. Our Grantham site suffered significant damage. Please take used batteries to a supermarket or HWRC for recycling.

As part of the #TakeCharge campaign, we are reminding residents to recycle old batteries responsibly❗ 🔋Old household batteries can be brought to any of the 15 recycling centres located across the district 👉 bit.ly/2N64tOn #FODC #KeepSafe #StrongerTogether #ThankYou
here is just a small collection of batteries that were removed from the normal plastic/paper/steel/aluminium etc recycling streams at our Birmingham Landor Street sorting centre. Many are a Health & safety and fire risk and none should be in the stream.
