Out of an abundance of caution, EPWater’s John T. Hickerson Wastewater Treatment Plant was evacuated, and the property has been secured by police. An engineering team is on-site and working with police to identify any critical infrastructure in the immediate area.
El Paso Water has invested in several stormwater projects throughout the city that help gather millions of gallons of runoff, reducing flood risks. Stormwater infrastructure can provide lasting protection for our community today and for generations to come.
