Since Day One, The Trump Administration has worked hard to support western North Carolina families and businesses recovering from the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene and ensure these communities continue their comeback. Last week, I visited Hendersonville, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, and Bat Cave to discuss how the Trump EPA is furthering these efforts and working with the state and local leaders to provide crucial funding and technical assistance.

My visit this weekend to @SCPorts Wando Welch Terminal in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, illustrated how the U.S. economy and our export/import market remain strong, vibrant, and resilient. American commerce and innovation is FULL STEAM AHEAD. Spoke with @SCPublicRadio’s Gavin Jackson while at the site to discuss EPA’s longstanding work with the port.

It was a busy and productive day for the Trump EPA in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia on Friday. @RepJenKiggans joined me in Smithfield to announce over $90 million in support of 83 projects for the Chesapeake Bay program to keep improving the health of the Bay watershed.
Afterwards, I saw EPA’s progress first-hand at the Atlantic Wood Industries Superfund Site in Portsmouth, a cleanup that is vital to keeping the Elizabeth River ecosystem healthy and supporting economic activity in the region.

Just got to Maine after a very productive visit today to New Hampshire. I met this afternoon with state leaders strongly advocating for EPA to end NH’s vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Program. EPA has proposed APPROVAL of their request and is pledging to finalize a formal decision by the end of 2026, responding at TRUMP SPEED.

Pipelines are the safest and most environmentally friendly way to do it. EPA’s repeal of the majority of the Biden-era Greenhouse Gas standards for power plants means: electric bill costs will go down for ALL Americans, and electric generators can invest money saved into stabilizing the electric grid so that when folks need the lights to stay on, they will stay on. justthenews.com/government/f…

Deleting a site from EPA’s National Priorities List is one of the best environmental wins we can deliver to communities. Saturday marked #NationalCleanupDay, and we’re celebrating the Kerr-McGee Cress Creek/West Branch of the DuPage River site, one of two sites in #Illinois who recently shed their #Superfund designation. Here, we removed thousands of tons of radioactive material from Kress Creek and the DuPage River—eliminating serious exposure risks in this scenic area. Learn more about this cleanup: bit.ly/4yIj4qi
