Started semi-regularly putting stuff up on open.substack.com/pub/enkresβ¦ ; poetry, general writing, sketches and other process materials whilst Iβm working on more important things.
Peace!
Am in the minority on the OoT remake, in terms of actually liking the tv production puppet show visuals for the character models but the overall look of the game is muddied by all the dogshit modern post-processing and lighting sensibilities

game about the scrolls themselves its never been more over
According to The Verge, an official announcement of The Elder Scrolls VI will happen very soon, even as early as next month. It will be called "The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel", and will take place in the province of Hammerfell. The game's story will focus on the Elder Scrolls artifacts themselves, and uncovering the secrets of the Scrolls.

Iβve spent three years engaged in long-running and surprisingly civil arguments on here over whether AI is a cause of civilisational collapse or merely a symptom.
My view is that, just as AI prose and art could only possibly flourish in the context of a mass culture that was completely sclerotic and reduced to smashing tropes together, the sort of person whoβd get an LLM to tell them three nice things about their own child or make a podcast about what their child had been up to to listen to on the way to work was fundamentally inhuman long before AI came along.

I think Bill Hicks was right when he said that celebrities who do commercials should be "off the artistic roll call forever" - and back then he was only talking about Jay Leno shilling for Doritos, not every modern celeb promoting the Life-Ruining App

Shane Gillis and Danny McBride play feuding weathermen in a new four-minute Kalshi ad.
βIn the past year Iβve made some questionable trades on contracts for local weather, Costco hot dog prices and cricket,β McBride said in a statement. βWorking with Kalshi to make this very unique ad was a great way to both make amends on some of my questionable predictions, but also get to work with Shane, and reunite with my good pal, Deep Roy.β

Honestly moreso than managing to finish the game in under 2 years (which required unhealthy crunch) I did respect DA2's complete swerve towards a narrative where you get relentlessly crushed by the forces of history in a genre that's usually very "great man" in tone

Comics suffer the same problem with every American industry in that they're now a closed bunker situation of franchise management where nobody is getting money and nothing is getting made. Its got nothing to do with a lack of talent.

Something about this whole affair really feels like it encapsulates this low, dishonest decade: a con artist who achieved a high social position by catering to progress as fashion, bullied into suicide by white nationalists who want to dismantle the concept of progress altogether
