The Women's National Basketball Association is still unable to define what a woman is after months of deliberations. WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert says Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White are ineligible because they are "both men," but, as OutKick reports, she still couldn't define what a woman is. Republican lawmakers asked Engelbert how the league defines a "woman," but in her response letter, she was unable to provide that definition. She was able, however, to somehow determine that both Kanter Freedom and White are "men." "With respect to your questions regarding eligibility, only women are eligible to play in the WNBA, and the individuals you cite in your letter are both men," Engelbert said. In a statement to OutKick, Freedom ripped the decision. "Cathy Engelbert cannot clearly define what a woman is, but she's absolutely certain that I'm a man. I mean, how does that make sense? Who gets to decide? Who has the authority to determine whether someone is a woman?" he asked. Pretty sad that it's 2026 and Engelbert would assume their genders like that.
