An interesting article in the IH journal by Martin Sketchley about AI and dogme in the EFL classroom. Worth a read! @ELTExperiences #EFL #teachenglish #studyCELTA
Yesterday, I decided to get MW4 (a new video game) to relax after a busy Saturday.
So far, the campaign is incredibly raw and engaging. I’m hooked and am in the middle of it. Perhaps one of the best stories in a game for a while. Good job @CallofDuty for this game. 👏🏻👏🏻
Over the weekend, I went to Busan for a workshop organised by @Korea_TESOL about culture and communication. I nice reminder of what I studied years ago. Anyhow, I ended up walking nearly nine miles afterwards.
Great fun and I must spend more time in Busan.

I noticed that there appears to be an error in the calculation of total subscribers on @YouTube. Any one else find this issue at all on YT Studio.
Could @YouTubeCreators look into this at all? I was going to have a little celebration after passing 26,400 but will have to wait.
Last year, five filmmakers signed an updated vow of filmmaking chastity with Dogme 25. In light of this, I feel it necessary that we review Dogme ELT, especially in an era of a growing reliance of AI and technology.
So ... who is with me?

Recently, I achieved the teaching of 2,000 lessons on Preply - something that I had never thought that I would achieve.

Good old chicken feet. Nice to have something rather different for a change. It was the first time that I had tried it but it turned out to be quite delicious. 😋
If you are on the journey to get monetised with YouTube, they have moved the goal posts. Originally, you had to have 1,000 subscribers, 4,000 hours of watch time, and no copyright strikes.
What does this mean for small content creators?

Last Friday, I celebrated my twenty fourth wedding anniversary with my wife by organising a surprise jazz concert with my local jazz club.
Friends and colleagues were invited, which was great and many people helped make this event special.
Here is to another 24 years!

You know it is local election time when the City’s candidate walks in to a smallish chicken and beer place to engage with the local community. Being as polite as I can, I smiled, shook hands, and shared my support.
I wish all those luck with today’s local elections in Korea.
There have been a few updates recently with the Preply classroom, especially with the Preply Canvas. More info and my response in this video.

We took a moment to ask one of our plenary speakers what he thought about Criticality in the classroom. Some food for thought as we count down the final days until the #KOTESOL2026 International Conference!
One of my online students failed to turn up to their first lesson, so I made this video. You got to do something. 😅
