HCS' Mental Health and Wellness Department has developed a yearlong "You Belong" campaign to focus on the dimensions of belonging and the small, intentional actions that help every student feel connected to their school community.
October’s dimension is SUPPORTED. Students feel supported when they know help is available, adults are in their corner, and they have access to the resources they need to thrive. This month, our schools are finding meaningful ways to show students: "You are not alone. We’ve got your back."

These gatherings are an opportunity to hear updates from elementary, middle, and high schools across each cluster, while also highlighting student displays, performances, and accomplishments. Community members will have the opportunity to share feedback, connect with school and district leaders, and learn more about the great things happening across HCS.

Our 8th graders took a deep dive into history at the Consolidated Gold Mine in Dahlonega, GA. They explored the real underground mine shafts and tried their hand at gold panning. No millionaires yet, but we definitely struck memories! @PrincipalHolsey

October is National Bullying Prevention Month, a time to come together to promote kindness, respect, and belonging across our schools. At HCS, we are committed to creating safe, supportive environments where every student feels seen, valued, and empowered to learn and thrive. By choosing kindness, speaking up, and supporting one another, we can help prevent bullying and make a positive difference in the lives of our students. Together, we can make sure every student knows: You belong here!
