Unions resisted women’s rugby until grassroots & public pressure forced change Rather than build for a different game & demographic, they replicated the men’s model A model that loses money Negative for growth of women’s rugby & a threat to all Union’s economic viability
Not sure if rugby had the financial means for this recent expansion into a women's game as what football and cricket did The money that England put into women's rugby could have saved Wasps, Worcester and London Irish.....

Sad to see Otorohanga default in the Waikato Prem comp yesterday. Oto have been a formidable opponent for last 20 years, winning the Breweries Shield in 2012. Melville have pulled out of Prem club comp for the season. Tough times for club rugby.

Which area of Scottish Rugby should take the hit to give Glasgow more support? There's a finite amount of money, so who gets less funding?

The two pro teams have been given £26m-£29m each year for the past few years. They have both brought in between £10m-£13m. There is usually around a £15m deficit. So roughly £7m deficit per pro team per year... not playing budget.

96 points conceded in 2 games by a Sean Edwards defence... and people are calling for GT to go. 🤣🤣🤣 A lot asked for Scotland to go into the last weekend with something to play for. Job done.
