The government’s proposed changes to Indefinite Leave to Remain could make some refugees wait up to 30 years before they can apply for settlement.
That means people who have fled war and persecution would have their status reviewed every 2.5 years for decades, living in constant precarity when they should be settling into their new home.
They would be vulnerable to any future government that deems their country “safe”, even if it isn’t, and sends them back.
These performatively cruel policies go against everything the Labour Party is meant to stand for. I urge the government to drop them.
There is an option here luvvie. You could always consider moving back to a muslim conforming shithole that doesn’t celebrate Christian festivals. Just a thought
