With John O’Shea set to announce the Ireland squad to take on Belgium and Switzerland tomorrow, I’ve decided to make the squad that I would pick !🇮🇪
I would make a decent number of changes from Stephen Kenny’s last squad as I feel changes are needed with certain players performing very well who are yet to be picked.
I would also of given Kasey McAteer his first call up but it seems he is unavailable through injury.

Unsurprisingly to myself , Finn Azaz is miles ahead of the rest with 1.8 chances created and 0.25 XA per 90.
Irelands most creative player and should be one of the first players in the squad come March.
Andrew Moran’s numbers are also superb for his first season in senior football.

In fairness to Kenny, it’s easy to say that anyone would’ve done what he did with the young players, but you still have to give credit to the person who actually did it. Not sure many would’ve been so quick to ditch Randolph for Bazunu especially
People can have their opinion on how SK set up the Irish team tactically but the complete overhaul he's done in bringing the average age down from 33 for the EURO 2020 qualifying (3rd oldest) to an average age of 25.6 used in Euro 2024 qualifiying (2nd youngest) needs to be commended, and whoever comes next will undoubtedly gain greatly from young players earning a lot of caps at an early age.
