Excited to be part of the @MMBDTP bioinformatics training this year for the new cohort! Fantastic to hear from @rodwell_ella about her career so far and her genomics work at UKHSA on day 1 🧬
It's that time of year! Meeting the latest cohort of @MMBDTP students & teaching them #comparativegenomics
Day 1: mapping & #variant calling. @gemma_langridge taught us valuable lessons (sanity checking your data) & @rodwell_ella showed the large scale genomics performed @UKHSA

Our @EH_Hayles has preprinted her 1st paper! This analysis of #Covid in Norfolk underscores the critical role of #genomic #epidemiology in understanding viral dynamics & highlights how regional insights can inform public health strategies @MMBDTP #MRC

Great to see our Gemma, Alice & Emma delivering this #MinION #nanopore training course in Nepal. We hear their hosts are looking after them & treating them to wonderful food
Don't they look like a great team in their matching @JIDCuk tops, the charity that has funded this course
Its been an intense 1st day however our students ar enthusiastic to learn all that @nanopore #sequencing can add to their science
I can't thank @gemma_langridge & @NisbetAlice enough for their support in running this & expanding it. Its wonderful to be on this journey with them
🚨 My first, first author #preprint is now live! 🚨

We analysed the genomic epidemiology of #SARSCoV2 in Norfolk and found:
- regional lineage and variant of concern diversity increased throughout the pandemic
- four regional epidemic waves driven by variants of concern
Massive thank you to @andrewjpage, @DrRobKingsley, @javierguitian, @gemma_langridge and #COGUK

Great few days in Bristol for #gsuk24 #genomescienceuk 🧬 Some very insightful sessions and my first time giving a conference talk! Thank you to the organisers for the opportunity and keep an eye out for the preprint of the work coming soon 👀
Looking forward to presenting at #GenomeScience24 next week!!
We are excited for #GenomeScience24. All our students have talks! @EH_Hayles will discuss #epidemiology of #COVID in Nofolk during the pandemic. @MetaRudder will tell us about within patient diversity of #Salmonella. @NisbetAlice will discuss typhiodal salmonella genome structure
