Your presence reaffirms our shared conviction that democracy flourishes when institutions work together, citizens participate actively, leaders act responsibly, and the rule of law prevails.

Honored to represent @IEBCKenya Chairperson @EEEthekon at the COMESA Regional Training in Machakos County today, delivering his keynote "Anchoring the African Dream: Modern Foundations of Electoral Governance." EMBs from across the continent convened to tackle a shared imperative: building public trust through transparent, inclusive electoral frameworks and modernized accreditation systems.
The Chairperson's message was clear. Stop diagnosing old problems and start codifying pan-African governance standards that balance institutional security with genuine public participation for all, including grassroots organizations, youth networks and persons with disabilities.

This Labour Day, I celebrate the Kenyans whose diligence drives our economy.
To my IEBC staff: I have seen you trudging through mud without gumboots, crossing flooded rivers, and enduring the blistering sun. You did not just do a job, you executed a heroic mission.
Your sacrifice is the bedrock upon which the 2027 General Election will stand.
Happy Labour day!
Today marks the end of the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise.
I sincerely thank everyone who turned out to register as a voter and took part in shaping the future of our nation.
As affirmed under Article 38 of the Constitution, every citizen has the right to exercise their political rights, including participating in free, fair, and regular elections. These rights can only be realized through voter registration, which is the gateway to active participation in the electoral process. Kenyan democracy is therefore in your hands.
Please note that voter registration will continue at Huduma Centres, the IEBC Customer Experience Centre at Anniversary Towers in Nairobi, as well as at IEBC Constituency Offices.
Looks like the April Fools' Day prank did its job, it flew right over our @IEBCKenya social media admin’s head.
But jokes aside, let’s not let the moment distract us from what truly matters. No pranks here, just a genuine call to action. 🇰🇪
Kenyans, especially the youth, this is your moment. Take advantage of the ongoing enhanced voter registration exercise across the country and make your voice count. Be part of the decision by registering as a voter.
Step up today. Tell your friends, your family, your whole squad. Let’s channel that same energy into shaping our democracy.

@IEBCKenya CHAIRMAN
Last week at the #PDF2026 People Dialogue Festival, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) had the pleasure of engaging with thousands of Kenyans who showed up ready to talk about the future of our democracy.
Special shout-out to the young people! Mlijitokeza kwa wingi sana, full of energy, full ideas, na VIBES za kujenga nchi. From bold conversations about electoral reforms to innovative suggestions on technology and civic participation, you showed that the future of Kenya’s democracy iko safe mikononi mwa youth.
We were also excited to see many of you mkijisajili kama voters during the forum. That step may look simple, but hapo ndio democracy huanza. Kura yako Sauti yako!
And this is just the beginning. Later this month, the Commission will be launching an enhanced voter registration exercise where our registration clerks will be deployed across the country to bring voter registration services closer to the people. Tutakuwa karibu na wewe kwa ground so that every eligible Kenyan gets the chance to register.
To everyone who pulled up, shared ideas, challenged us, and registered to vote, Tunasema asanteni sana!
The Commission remains committed to listening, engaging, and working with all Kenyans as we continue building transparent, credible, and inclusive elections.
Tuko pamoja. Democracy ni yetu sote.
On this International Women’s Day, we celebrate the courage, leadership, and resilience of women across Kenya who continue to shape the future of our democracy.
Women are not only participants in our electoral processes but they are leaders, decision-makers, and drivers of national progress. A stronger democracy is built when women’s voices are fully heard and represented.
As the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, we reaffirm our commitment to inclusive elections and equal participation for all.
Happy International Women’s Day!

Erastus Edung Ethekon, HSC, Chairperson IEBC, at the People’s Dialogue Festival:
“At the People’s Dialogue Festival, we believe dialogue is essential at every stage of the electoral process from planning and execution to post-event evaluation. Forums such as this provide an important opportunity for engagement.
Through such dialogue, we are able to demystify certain issues and address narratives circulating in the public space.
Engagement enables citizens and stakeholders to better understand how we operate how we manage and handle data, maintain the integrity of the voter register, and uphold the safeguards that ensure the security of the electoral process.
These are the kinds of conversations we must continue to have as a country. We must remain open and engaged on matters of trust, confidence, accountability, and transparency.”
