Congratulations to Israel, which, despite the war and six weeks of economic shutdown in the spring, now has the 4th highest GDP per capita among states with over ten million people—behind only the USA, the Netherlands & Australia. It will likely leapfrog into 2nd place by 2030.

What would a nuclear war between India and Pakistan actually look like? This 28-minute simulation follows one, minute by minute — from a five-kiloton tactical nuclear strike on an Indian tank column in the Cholistan desert, to the phone that rings in New Delhi three minutes later, to the week that follows once nobody is deciding any more. Everything in it is built from things that exist: India's 2003 nuclear doctrine of no first use and massive retaliation, the four red lines Pakistan's Khalid Kidwai set out in 2002, the Nasr tactical missile, the eight-minute flight from Sargodha to Delhi, the 2019 Rutgers–Colorado nuclear winter study, and the real crisis of May 2025. Everything except the ending. 0:00 Cold Open 04:10, Day Five 1:20 Chapter 1 · Two Pages 4:26 Chapter 2 · Day Zero 6:39 Chapter 3 · The Four Lines 8:28 Chapter 4 · The Colonel 10:54 Chapter 5 · Seven Minutes 14:33 Chapter 6 · The Phone Call 18:07 Chapter 7 · The Week 22:15 Chapter 8 · After 24:58 Chapter 9 · The Hill #IndiaPakistan #NuclearWar #IndiaVsPakistan #India #Pakistan #NuclearWeapons #NuclearDeterrence #Geopolitics #Simulation #Documentary #WarIndex

He asked ten times for the suitcase so he could change before meeting the Prime Minister. But Netanyahu didn’t care. Yaniv came off the replacement flight into Ben Gurion still in the shirt he wore in the cockpit. The blood stains were the attacker’s. He apologized for it like a man late to a wedding. Netanyahu pulled him in, called him the honor and the hero, and asked how he’d done it. Yaniv didn’t give a speech. He said we’re a nation of lions. Then he introduced his wife Meital and his daughters, because that’s what you do when you’ve just pulled a diving aircraft out of a hole and the first thing on your mind is not to look sloppy for the country’s leader. The plane was about an hour from home when the lights went out and someone screamed. The stabbed captain got the door open before he went down. Yaniv went in, pulled the man off the instruments, called two others, and hauled the yoke back because the nose was pointed at the ground. He later said he knew what to do because he had watched Air Crash Investigation. That’s a civilian deciding, in a split second under immense pressure and chaos, that the aircraft was not going to finish the job. Western capitals will spend the next week talking about procedures and statements. What this video actually shows is the thing the West lacks in equal measure. Israelis still move toward the door. They still put their hands on a man who is trying to kill everyone on the aircraft, then worry about a suitcase, then stand there with their children while the Prime Minister touches the blood and doesn’t flinch. That instinct is why our people are still here. The rest of the West keeps waiting for someone else to open the door. I’m so proud, more than ever today, to be an Israeli. The world can hate us all it likes. We fight to save innocent lives no matter what the cost. Our enemies kill innocent lives for a false god and a fake prophet. And the rest sit terrified of shadows, watching their own demise, shouting at the only people who refuse to die at the hands of savages. Am Israel Chai 🇮🇱💪🏼

When Lafayette was buried in Paris, his son covered the coffin with American dirt carried from Bunker Hill. He had wanted even more than that. On his farewell tour of America in 1824, Lafayette collected earth from every state he visited, planning to be buried in all of it. But the steamboat carrying it sank in the Ohio River, so he gathered soil from Bunker Hill instead and brought it safely home to France. He died in Paris in 1834. His son spread the American dirt over his grave exactly as he had wished. That son's name was Georges Washington de Lafayette. Decades earlier, while Lafayette sat in a foreign prison during the French Revolution, George Washington had taken in the boy and kept him safe in America. An American flag flies over his grave to this day. It never came down, not even when the Nazis held Paris. No one from another nation ever belonged to America the way Lafayette did.
🇺🇸 George Washington had no son. For two years he raised Lafayette’s. As President of the United States. In April 1795, while his father was locked in an Austrian fortress at Olmütz, Georges Washington de Lafayette was sent to America. He was fifteen. James Monroe, the American minister in Paris, got him a passport. Washington wanted the boy under his own roof. He could not take him yet. France and the United States were quarreling, and a president who housed the son of a jailed French revolutionary could be accused of taking sides. So Georges waited out of sight. He landed in Boston in August 1795 under the name Motier, then moved to a house in New Jersey, then to New York, where Alexander Hamilton watched over him and told Washington not to rush. In February 1796 the House backed the President. Georges moved in. He lived with the Washingtons in Philadelphia and at Mount Vernon. Washington paid for a portrait of him. Georges also studied at Harvard. Washington kept him until his father was freed in September 1797. He sailed home the next year.

In short, the facts now emerging about the fatalities in Gaza are exactly as we predicted back in 2024. A lot of people should lose their careers over their ridiculous statistical modelling predicting hundreds of thousands of deaths in outlets like the Lancet and joke NGOs like AOAV. They won’t. They’ll get a free pass. Their blood libel work is done. Famine allegations, destruction of healthcare, targeting civilians; all debunked by Hamas’s own numbers. That’s before we get to the 5,000 combatants we’ve found on the lists so far (from obituaries released mainly by the militant groups themselves). The world’s media should hang their heads in shame.
Gaza Ministry of Health has now released mortality numbers for 2025. For the first time since the war, they give numbers for all deaths, including natural deaths. In 2025 there were a total of 24,650 deaths in Gaza. 18,870 (76.6%) of these were violent, of which 17,286 (70.1%) were due to "war operations" and 1,584 (6.4%) were classified as accidents. There were a total of 5,780 (23.4%) non-violent deaths, including disease, old age, and all other causes. 5,780 deaths is about the same as the annual non-violent mortality in Gaza before the war, and the age distribution is similar to 2022. There is no significant excess of non-violent deaths. In other words, despite frequent and loud claims to the contrary, there seems to be very few indirect deaths due to the war in Gaza in 2025. As there were 50,227 births in 2025, this gives a natural population growth of 25,577 or 1.2% in Gaza in 2025, which is higher population growth than most countries in the world and more than the world average. There are currently ~6,000 births/month in Gaza, per GMH. Assuming a similar number of non-violent deaths in Gaza in 2026 as in 2025, that means there are currently 12x more births than deaths in Gaza, and that Gaza is now experiencing one of the highest population growths in the world.

This is Asad Rejwan, one of the five men who breached the cockpit and subdued the copilot. His firsthand account: Someone started screaming at the front, “There’s a knife in the cockpit!” and the plane started plummeting. His daughters started flying out of their seats. “I need to fight to save my wife and daughters.” He and four other guys broke into the cockpit, kicking and punching the copilot. Yaniv was the first in. The pilot had managed to unlock the cockpit door. This was all happening as the plane was plummeting. A paramedic and a nurse who were on board saved the pilot’s life. A British pilot who was on the plane took over the controls and landed the aircraft. These five turned a near-calamity into a victory that will be recounted for decades. A sort of mini-Entebbe raid, but instead of elite paratroopers, an ad hoc group of Israeli everymen.
