What does a company often do when it acquires another company? Typically, it’s after the customer base. It raises maintenance fees to extract as much revenue as possible from that base, then pushes those customers onto its own cloud product. As many CSPs can attest, the consequences of these acquisitions tend to be costly. Metaswitch has gone through multiple ownership changes in recent years. For many CSPs, these transitions have triggered a question: Is our Telephony Application Server (TAS) still a strategic platform, or just a system to be maintained? When a TAS turns into a maintenance cash cow, innovation slows. Budgets go to keeping the lights on, while clarity about the future fades. 🔗 More on Metaswitch Rhino replacement: hubs.li/Q04D4ttZ0 We asked many CSPs why they moved or are considering moving to alternative solutions. This is what we heard: CSPs don’t want to invest in an outdated platform. They don’t want minuscule gross margins. They don’t want to be forced to move to a vendor cloud. And they don’t want solutions they have no control over. 🔗 More on BroadWorks replacement: hubs.li/Q04D4tmM0 Did someone buy the vendor of your successful in-house UCC-VPBX/call-center product so they could force you to migrate your business customers to their standard cloud product with high monthly license fees? After VMware was acquired, perpetual licenses were gone within weeks and customers had been moved to subscription-based licenses. Costs that had remained flat for years jumped, in some cases several times over, within a single renewal cycle. CSPs don’t have to choose between keeping UCC/VPBX and contact-center services running and getting off VMware. Moving to ECT addresses both challenges at once. 🔗 More on VMware replacement: hubs.li/Q04D4tt70 We at ECT are an independent company, not for sale, and we run on no venture capital. That means we’re in this for the long run, and we don’t generally declare end-of-life/end-of-service on our products. Maybe it’s time to talk to us. #Telecoms #Metaswitch #BroadWorks #VMware #LegacyModernization

Many CSPs grew out of a process of mergers and acquisitions, ending up with heterogeneous networks with multiple legacy platforms and island solutions. Often the vendors of these platforms have already declared end of life or even end of service. Maintaining all these legacy platforms greatly increases operational costs and also hinders product innovation. Meanwhile, CSPs are continually investing extremely heavily in the newest technology, but the platforms providing services and products are often far behind, preventing CSPs from getting the most out of their network investments. Is service modernization a cost saver or a money maker? Moving to a platform with state-of-the-art service that is more competitive than your legacy service could mean a gross profit margin of 80%. 🔗 hubs.li/Q04CrbM00 #Telecoms #LowCode #NetworkModernization #TelecomStrategy #TelecomInnovation

AI-Assisted Voice Monitoring: Detect. Evaluate. Respond. Monitoring thousands of calls across a national penitentiary system presents a significant challenge. Identifying suspicious conversations requires teams to listen to, evaluate and transcribe calls, creating a heavy workload and potential security gaps. ECT developed a bespoke solution using Telecoms Low Code with built-in AI capabilities to help a communications service provider address this challenge. The system detects predefined keywords in spoken conversations across multiple languages. When a keyword is detected, it evaluates the potential threat and triggers actions based on its severity and the requirements of the individual penitentiary. By combining real-time keyword detection, AI-powered analysis and automated telecoms functions, the solution makes call monitoring more targeted and manageable. For the CSP, it creates a new source of revenue. For the prison system, it supports better use of human resources and a more streamlined approach to monitoring calls. Do you face a similar challenge as a CSP? Discover how ECT addressed this use case, and let’s talk and work together to find a solution to your challenge. 🔗 hubs.li/Q04By3W_0 #Telecoms #AI #LowCode #CallMonitoring #TelecomSolutions

At ECT, we know firsthand that navigating through strict specifications and guidelines to create a formal request for proposal (RFP) or tender is challenging— our Presales department works constantly on analyzing and completing those tenders. These documents are extensive and comprehensive. They require being very descriptive and extremely technical. In short, they are not an easy task to complete. That's why we created this template. Based on our extensive experience, this tender template allows users to choose what needs to be included and what can be left out, so our Presales team can quickly describe the specifications and guidelines of a certain project. It is a thorough document that encompasses most possibilities within a typical telecoms value-added services tender process. In this tender document, you will find: ✅ Project Overview: A summary of purpose, goals, scope, and key details to give stakeholders a clear understanding of what the project is about. ✅ Response Format: Detailed explanation of how this RFP should be answered. ✅ General Requirements: Guidelines and broad rules to be followed for the project. ✅ Project Architecture: Comprehensive overview of the entire process. ✅ Service Fulfillment: Detailed requirements for the delivery of the process. ✅ Infrastructure: Physical requirements for the project. Why do CSPs partner with ECT? The answer looks different depending on who you ask. For a CEO, success is often quantified as the market valuation of the company. Vendors offering OTT communications products greatly outperform CSPs in market valuation, although CSPs provide the bandwidth which makes OTTs possible in the first place. Concentrating on more and better bandwidth doesn't help much: bandwidth as a standard commodity delivers ever lower margins. Reselling global OTT products doesn't allow differentiation and the margins can also be extremely low. Yet CSPs are investing heavily and regularly in key assets: their network, their brand and their customer relationships. At ECT, we believe CSPs can best monetize these advantages by offering their own products, individualized to better serve their target customers and their changing needs. For a CTO, there is always something new. One key concern is the consolidation of services and simultaneous elimination of technical debt required to support legacy systems. Our technology is being used today with the IMS of Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, with VoLTE, with 5G. Our TLC is fully virtualized, implemented as a VNF with lifecycle management via leading VNF managers, and we support containerization in Red Hat OpenShift, Rancher Kubernetes, AWS, etc. Telecoms low code enables CTOs to implement and continually evolve network services agilely and flexibly, adding value to the CSP network instead of moving it out to third-party OTT products. For a CPO, the frustration is real. At CSPs, product leaders often have little if any C-level representation. Product people are frustrated by telecoms networks that do not support continuous, agile product composition. Some CSPs form alliances with dominant global partners or just resell third-party products, despite the resulting lower margins and lack of differentiation. Our telecoms low code and agile co-development empower product leaders to realize their own strategic product vision and respond continuously to the changing needs of their customers. TLC turns product owners and account managers into citizen developers, able to try out their own ideas and adapt apps in direct response to customer requests, demonstrating enhancements in sprints of 2 to 3 weeks. And for everyone: a breach of a service level agreement with us is practically unheard of. First-tier carriers using ECT technology have had zero unscheduled downtime for more than a decade. SLAs are an expression of trust. As a company interested in long-term partnerships, we focus on going the extra mile to make our customers feel their services are in the right hands. 🔗 hubs.li/Q04yy2gt0 #Telecoms #LowCode #BusinessOutcomes #TelecomStrategy #TelecomInnovation

For decades, CSPs built the networks that power every app and every service, often treated as a "dumb pipe" or commodity, even while OTTs capitalized on that infrastructure to innovate and offer new services. The usual responses, reselling standardized third-party products or moving fully onto a vendor's cloud, mean smaller margins, near-zero differentiation, and losing the in-house talent that could bring innovation back to telecoms. There's another path. CSPs can operate on their own cloud and combine their human knowledge, customer reach, and geographical proximity with technologies like Telecoms Low Code, UCaaS, and NTS to offer products that resonate with specific markets, something OTTs are incapable of providing. Our Deputy CEO Metin Sezer breaks down this shift for CSPs looking to move from commodity infrastructure to real differentiation. 🔗 More on ECT's approach to CSP differentiation: hubs.li/Q04xYhmD0 #Telecoms #LowCode #Innovation #Strategy

You can't get a return on your investment in 5G just selling bandwidth and reselling third-party products and services. CSPs are constantly investing in the newest network technology, moving in ever-shorter cycles from 3G to 4G and now to 5G. But older technology for network and business services often limits their ability to capitalize on this investment. Moreover, the development of technology for services has also been accelerating in leaps and bounds. The modernization journey in telecoms has been continuous: from intelligent networks to service delivery platforms to low code. From bare-metal to virtualization to VNF manager support to automated lifecycle management and containerization. Keeping pace with this journey requires more than a low-code platform. It requires deep expertise in telecoms network technology. This is what makes ECT different from other vendors of low-code technology: we are experts in telecoms network technology. Our research and development implements advancements in the technology behind telecoms services as soon as it is feasible. Network technology is particularly important to our R&D. Together with ECT, you have a partner who is continually modernizing service creation and deployment, empowering you to compete successfully in the high-margin market for business services. 🔗 hubs.li/Q04xwt7r0 #Telecoms #LowCode #TelecomModernization #NetworkModernization #TelecomInnovation

When you continuously individualize a product for a specific enterprise, you earn more and improve long-term customer retention. Large corporates and municipalities often have their own special needs, for example for the integration of their enterprise systems into communications services. In some European countries, large organizations issue tenders for their business services on a regular basis. Such tenders are your opportunity to acquire a large number of subscribers all at once with lower acquisition costs. But it's not easy to win such tenders: they can include all kinds of new features as well as integrations with a myriad of proprietary systems and third-party products. If you're reselling a one-size-fits-all OTT product, you'll have great difficulty coming out on top, as most global OTTs don't care what individualization your customer might want. Even if you have developed your own product, without telecoms low code, the individualization of services to meet the customer's requirements can be slow and costly. You stand to be the big winner here using telecoms low code to respond agilely to special requests and to individualize your product for each of your major accounts. At ECT, we appreciate that you have to be able to respond continuously to changing use cases and requirements to optimize customer acquisition and retention. That's why we offer continuous co-development of your products starting the day you launch them. 🔗 hubs.li/Q04wVyzJ0 #Telecoms #LowCode #ProductIndividualization #CustomerRetention #TelecomInnovation
