Learning made fun at @ECAPCSDC! Students in Ms. Robinson's kindergarten class built 2 and 3-dimensional shapes using toothpicks, gummies, and slime. Students were then asked to compare and contrast the characteristics of the 3D figures and the 2D figures. #STEM #DCcharters

This morning I joined @mjwalkerdavis on a tour of @ECAPCSDC, where I saw DC's youngest learners joyfully engaging with teachers in literacy, math and social-emotional learning. A puppet even popped in! Thank you to the entire @ECAPCSDC leadership team for having me!

Moms Who Lead with Love and Marli Boxes partnered to provide all @ecapcsdc prekindergarten and kindergarten students with a book and a sensory box for home. Each box contained homemade playdoh, multicultural wooden pegs, and multicultural Crayola crayons.

.@ECAPCSDC participated in the District of Columbia’s Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Program in conjunction with the National School Lunch Program which provides fresh fruits and vegetables to families every Thursday.

.@ECAPCSDC's behavior health therapist supported students and staff members during last school year with weekly mindfulness sessions. The therapist will continue her work with the school during the 21-22 school year.

.@ECAPCSDC provides school supplies, technology devices, and personal protective equipment to all students. Free breakfast and lunch are provided daily to all students.

Access to technology is important at @ecapcsdc. Technology, including iPads, Chromebooks, laptops are utilized in all prekindergarten through third grade classrooms to support and enhance learning. These resources including hotspots were made available during virtual learning.

Health and safety are a top priority at @ecapcsdc. The building has high quality MERV-13 air filters, desk shields, physically distanced desk, in-classroom toilet rooms for students, individual student supply bins, and reminders of social distancing posted around our school.
