Paris macht einfach weiter!
- 140 Kilometer an neuen Radwegen
- 220 Kilometer neue Fahrradstraßen in Einbahnstraßen
- 420 neue fahrradfreundliche und sichere Kreuzungen
- 200 Mio.

Most road widenings happened with 0 public input. Trucks just showed up in the middle of the night and bulldozed sidewalks to add a few traffic lanes because traffic engineers said so.
Now, when we want those lanes converted back to sidewalks or bike lanes, it requires 15 public meetings, coordination between 5 different city agencies, and special one-on-one meetings with NIMBYs.
And it still might not happen because that NIMBY knows people in city hall.

This appears to be an AI generated video, with an implausibly sideways car at the end and more trucks than are likely available for this route.

Both are city vehicles, but...
Only one demands minimal space, doesn't threaten lives, and causes zero wear on our roads. Yet the cargo bike has to beg for every single scrap of safe infrastructure, while the massive SUV is just handed the entire city by default.

You'll hear this "where will I park" complaint from people who assume a suburban-style design can fit in constrained city environments.
Cars are space hogs, which means you can't fit as many in cities as you can in sprawly areas.

If fuel doesn’t run out, you can thank the EV drivers.
That’s because globally, electric vehicles are already displacing around 1.7 MILLION barrels of oil demand EVERY DAY.
That’s roughly 620 million barrels a year that would otherwise be consumed by those EV drivers driving inefficient ICE vehicles as well.
Less demand for petrol and diesel means less pressure on the fuel supply that everyone else relies on.
So if you pull into your local petrol station this week and there’s actually fuel left…
You’re welcome.
Maybe give the next EV driver you see a little wave 👋

This is what a functioning urban centre of city with good density looks like.
No 8-lane highway. No sea of parked cars. No flyovers. Just people actually getting somewhere they wanna be using transit and active mobility
