#GodfreyHarris believed that as long as there is no promotion of free speech to hold wildlife managers accountable, the threat of #wildlife mismanagement remains. Let us help build the Harris #Africa Institute for Environmental Communication in his honour. backabuddy.co.za/donation/af…
Summer has come too early in my #Johannesburg neighbourhood. Very heavy #rains in September for past two weeks have confused both humans and #nature. Now a big pool has formed in an open space and birds are confusing with a lake.
Without free speech that holds wildlife managers accountable, wildlife conservation remains threatened. Wildlife cannot be successfully managed in secrecy anywhere in the world.
South Africa 🇿🇦 has excellent transport services, especially its richest province #Gauteng.
Hopefully @SADC countries will discuss opportunities to grow their wildlife economy, through legal & sustainable trade in their huge multi-billion-dollar quantities of stockpiled @rhino horn & ivory. Why should SADC suffer from poverty & unemployment when trade can end both ills?
Why are @SADC countries not pushing for legal trade in their multimillion dollar ivory &rhino horn stockpiles to grow their wildlife economies? Experts have long told their ministers of Environment that legal trade in ivory & rhino horn is doable despite @CITES trade ban.

The neocolonial underbelly of @CITES that I have exposed in my two published books is further exposed by the researchers who published the report below. @Journalists should expose it in defence of Southern @African countries’ sustainable trade needs.
