It's actually very funny when people say a character is being handled wrong within a story and their reasoning can be essentially be boiled down to "why do they have flaws" or "why don't they win fights"
All the so called “interesting characters” in ATLA were reduced to little more than NPCs in the Aang movie, I don’t think we have to worry. Korra and Asami are interesting enough to carry (+ the villain they introduce)
