🧵 A short thread about @toptrumps, Munich + Duncan Edwards (no, this isn’t paid-for product placement but I’m open to offers!) When I was 8 I was give these cards for Xmas. They were endlessly fascinating to me. Who were these people? My older brother would fill me in….

Fantastic work from our u13 players, supported by our education team, in a week where the Academy have been remembering the lives lost in Munich and learning how tragedy laid the foundations for the way we behave today … #MUAcademy #mufc #youthcouragesuccess

Every year, Manchester United's U13s learn about the Munich Air Disaster and the Busby Babes. On Sunday, they presented to Liverpool's U13s before a memorial match at Carrington. It was a special morning, including this pre-match poem. 📺 Watch in full: manutd.com/en/videos/detail/…

For me the most poignant Manchester United photograph of all. Taken shortly before Munich, look at the shadows both behind & in front. This is where we came from with these boys on our shoulder.
