Dum Syl Aminikpo

In the coming days, I will be prioritizing environmental and sustainability storytelling. As an Ogoni man from the Niger Delta, this is something that comes naturally to us. I will tell the stories I grew up with, what's happening now, what's being done, and expectations.

Ring Road/Oyigbo to Eleme axis. Rivers State. This flood is bad, but it is also an eye-opener for what it could be tomorrow if nothing changes in the way we plan and build. Video: Sept 28, 2026.

Ogoni is being systematically partitioned, divided into fragments to serve narrow, private interests rather than the collective good. The tragedy is not merely the erosion of our heritage, but that some among us are celebrating this fragmentation. A day will come when the strength of the bloc is urgently needed, only to find it dissolved. By then, the systematic division will have left us too fractured to withstand external pressure. Save this reflection. You will recall this day. My name is Dum Syl Aminikpo, a proud Ogoni son. This post is mine.

Stayed off political conversations to fix a few things, work, and carve a clearer path for my next stage, while doing the bit I can to help the kids and young people in my area who really need some direction. So many things are happening in this country. But right now, the issues above are more important.

We all be activists. For the good of society.

My brother, do not marry based on the dictates of a church. Get someone that believes in you, someone you believe in, and raise your family. Churches do not make anyone better partners. It only makes them better pretenders.

And on the final day, football took hold, and the real team won. Thank you #Spain, for restoring sanity to the beautiful game. #VamosEspaña

If I check your profile and see more of politicians than you, I get concerned. Supporting a leader is one thing, but when your entire digital presence is dedicated to the very people who have kept this nation stagnant, I start to worry about your ability to think for yourself. I rarely accept such requests because I have no interest in debating people whose opinions are merely echoes of politicians who don't care about their constituents. Life is too short for that.

No country has won the @FIFAWorldCup with a foreign coach.

Tagged mangrove at the Ogoni Mangrove Wetland, a Ramsar site recognised by the @RamsarConv. Tagged mangroves are usually used for monitoring. @HYPREPNigeria is restoring mangroves in the remediated wetland of Ogoni after decades of hydrocarbon pollution.

Happy birthday @NnimmoB Nnimmo loves young people, people willing to learn, people with ideas, and he supports these ideas by giving them platforms to grow. Nnimmo pushes you to new heights, makes you better, and no matter how much you grow, still lets you know that you can be a better version. Nnimmo raises leaders, and erects mental billboards for them. Nnimmo is the ancestor lifting his lineage, a lineage of thinkers, creatives, bold, fearless, and dedicated coterie influencing the world positively.

No LGA in Rivers State received less than a billion Naira for May. Yet, there’s barely anything to show for it. What do LGAs really do with the allocation they get?

High time we got more involved than conclusive statements like this. Politicians will always want to rig, especially where they aren’t popular. In a country where the opinions of religious leaders are seen as the voice of God, this isn't necessary at this time. We've heard many of these before, which always went over the bar. We must be more involved beyond statements if we want to stop rigging.

Lincgreen hosted us for a unique #WorldEnvironmentDay! I love how they’re using creativity for advocacy. Seated on mats for ‘Looking Beyond Oil: Tales by Moonlight,’ we experienced the Niger Delta story in such a fun, immersive way. More of this, please! #ArtandActivism #Creativeadvocacy #Beyondwords

The Ken Saro-Wiwa Memorial Park is such a beautiful place.
