🧲 Carbon and hydrogen are enough to build molecular ferrimagnetism. In our latest collaboration, we link heterospin triangulenes into well-defined molecular spin architectures. doi.org/10.1002/anie.4744683 @angew_chem @NanotechSurfLab @UZH_Chemistry @ERC_Research @snsf_ch

Fantastic science and camaraderie at ISNA-21 @TeamISNA in Beijing.
With the @DumeleLab team at ISNA-21 in Beijing 🐉 presenting cycloazulenylene (now out in @angew_chem)! Such a great conference, loved spending it with old and new friends. @wolfgang_kies @jo_chembln

Congratulations on your fantastic PhD defense! 🎉 We’re delighted to welcome you to our team @ChemUniCologne. Exciting times ahead! Let's rock together.
I’m very happy to share that I successfully defended my PhD, graduating summa cum laude. I’m especially grateful to @Besserchemistry for the great supervision and support. I’m looking forward to starting a new chapter as a Senior Scientist (Akademischer Rat) in the @DumeleLab.

Thanks everyone for the great week in the Rockies.
What a fantastic Telluride Workshop on Molecular #Rotors, #Motors, and #Switches! It was a pleasure to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, discuss exciting science, and take in the breathtaking beauty of Telluride's nature. We even enjoyed some refreshing rain alongside an inspiring scientific program that spanned the fundamental concepts, computational approaches, and practical applications of molecular machines. I am delighted to be part of this vibrant community, representing the field of switchable molecular solids—materials that function as supramolecular macroscopic machines and bridge the gap between molecular motion and macroscopic response. Congratulations to the organizers, Arri, Miguel @migarciagaribay, and Jon @JonBeves, for putting together such an outstanding workshop. Thank you for creating an inspiring and memorable event!

pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs… Ever use B2pin2? Then this paper is for you! . What started as a conversation about some irreproducibility issues has ultimately led to this publication from the Young and @R2G_UCSD labs on the origin of B2pin2 decomposition. Worth a read if you use B2pin2

Cycloazulenylene. After our report and public disclosure in Feb 2026 @ChemRxiv, you can read about this beauty in @angew_chem. Great team work @Slanina_Group. And no, none of the 2,6- cycloazulenylenes are segments of Haeckelite nanotubes. none. tiny.cc/Cycloazulenylene

Great experimental contributions by @claravdouglas in the lead together with @sprachfine. David Dunlop of @Slanina_Group squeezed out all details of photophysics explained with calculations. Joel on the electrochemistry, @TommyWachsmuth + Julia introduced the azulenes to us.

Shu, it was a personal and scientific pleasure to host you in Cologne. Thanks to Aiko @afukazawa79 for the support. You were a great contribution to the group @ChemUniCologne.
My three-month research stay in the @DumeleLab at the University of Cologne has come to an end. I had an exciting time exploring fascinating chemistry, enjoying life in Germany, and spending time with Oliver and all the wonderful group members. Thank you and see you again soon!

Great piece. Well done!
🤲 What kind of chirality matters to chemists? With @MichelRickhaus and @TomSolomek, we revisit the topic of chirality in our new Perspective just published in @CHIMIA_journal (#PlatinumOpenAccess) chimia.ch/chimia/article/vie… dedicated to chemistry undergraduates✨

Molecules can take the high road too, and end up more twisted than they should. In our latest work, kinetic steering funnels the reaction into a single, twisted product, even though several products are possible. chemrxiv.org/doi/full/10.264… Big thanks to all co-authors!
