Weekly Briefing from Cloak & Dagger and Main Street Alpha
Tony Nash and Albert Marko are joined by geostrategic analyst Velina Tchakerova for an unvarnished briefing on the structural realities of global conflict, the illusion of market stability, and the quiet decay of European power.
In this episode, Tchakerova breaks down the concept of "managed confrontation" between Washington and Beijing, exposing why Third World War media hype is largely noise while real economic and proxy warfare accelerates below the surface. We explore Ukraine's deep strikes targeting 40% of Russian oil export facilities, the impossibility of Europe’s €40 trillion "strategic autonomy" math, and why elite hubris has rendered European leadership completely incapable of navigating the energy and industrial crises taking root on the continent.
Key Discussion Points
- Managed Confrontation Architecture: Why the US and China escalate strictly below a threshold of direct conflict, treating global proxy wars (Ukraine, Iran) as managed rivalries rather than triggers for existential warfare.
- Ukraine’s Refinery Campaign: Analyzing Ukraine’s deep-strike drone campaign, destroying up to 40% of Russia’s export infrastructure, and why Russia easily offsets volume losses via shadow markets and premium pricing following the removal of price caps.
- The €40 Trillion Mathematical Impossible: Unpacking the absurdity of European leadership attempting to fund €14 trillion in strategic autonomy, €7 trillion in defense, and €30 trillion in green agenda mandates without industrial backing or economic skin in the game.
The European Industrial Exodus: How two-century-old family businesses are abandoning Europe due to self-inflicted high energy costs, bureaucratic bloat, and delusional "middle power" aspirations driven by elites completely detached from reality.
Weaponized Migration & De-Risking Realities: How European weakness allows neighboring states to cheaply weaponize migration flows, while European corporations quietly bypass official rhetoric by diversifying directly into the US and Asia.
The Winter Energy Squeeze: Europe lowering its target gas storage threshold from 90% to 80% signals a dangerous inability to secure energy supplies, setting up severe cascading risks for energy-intensive industries heading into late 2026 and 2027.

Strategic intelligence.
Good post.
YouTube is the second largest search engine on earth & 99% of business owners are spending money on the first one while completely ignoring the second
Google charges you $40-$80 per click for "plumber near me" & you're in a bidding war with every other plumber in your city. the same person who typed that search will go to YouTube next & watch a 10 minute video from whichever plumber made one. there is no bidding war there because almost nobody made the video
the cost per click on Google Ads for a local service business is genuinely obscene right now. $40 for a click. not a customer. a click. a single person who might bounce in 3 seconds. to actually acquire a customer through paid search in most service industries you're spending $200-$500 per client, & the second you stop paying, the clicks stop coming. it's a meter running & the rate only goes up as more competitors enter the auction
now look at YouTube for the same business owner. someone in your city types "how much does X cost" or "is X worth it for my business" & watches a video from someone who explains it clearly. that viewer is further down the buying decision than any Google click, because they just spent 8 minutes with you. they heard you think. they watched you explain something they needed to understand. by the time they reach out, you're not a stranger competing on price. you're the person they already trust
& that video cost you nothing per view after you made it. the Google click costs you $40 EVERY time. the video pulls the same type of buyer for free, on repeat, for years. one is a slot machine you feed quarters into forever. the other is an asset that appreciates
here's the math that should make every business owner lose their mind. a business spending $5,000/mo on Google Ads is spending $60,000 a year to rent attention & own none of it. that same $60,000 invested in 50 videos would build a library that generates leads for years with zero ongoing cost. year 1, the ad budget wins on speed. year 2, the video library catches up. year 3 & beyond, it's not even close, because the ad spend resets to $0 every month & the videos compound
37 million businesses in the US. fewer than 9% have a YouTube channel. the ones that do are operating in an environment with almost zero competition for their specific buyer's attention. in most local service categories, there are 3-5 videos total answering the exact question a customer asks before they hire someone. in paid search for the same category, there are 40 companies fighting over every click
ts is the most lopsided arbitrage in digital marketing right now. the attention is on YouTube. the money is on YouTube. the buyers are on YouTube. & 91% of businesses aren't there
the reason they're not there is always the same. "i don't have time to make videos." "i don't want to be on camera." "i don't know how to edit." all production problems. none of them strategy problems. the strategy is obvious. the execution is what breaks
& that execution barrier is the one thing that actually changed this year. the businesses who figure that out in the next 12 months are going to own their category on the platform while everyone else keeps paying Google $40 a click to rent what they could own for free
stop feeding the meter. build the library. do with that what you want.
(we currently have a waitlist for the tool that replaces your entire production team and makes YouTube actually work for your business. waitlist link is in bio. spots are limited.)
Valuable insight.
You can build something in your spare time and sell it for ten years of salary, all paid upfront.
Not a startup. Not an app. A YouTube channel.
Here's the part nobody tells you. A channel that earns money every month isn't just income. It's an asset, and assets get bought. Right now private equity firms are quietly purchasing individual YouTube channels for hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars each, the same way they buy apartment buildings. A channel making eight thousand a month sells for somewhere between three hundred thousand and a million, depending on the niche.
Think about what that actually means. A side project you build at night, in a subject you already understand, can turn into a check most people never see in their lifetime. You're not just making monthly money. You're building something with a sale price.
But there's one rule that decides whether your channel is worth millions or worth nothing. If it's built around your personal face, nobody can buy it. The second you leave, the audience leaves, and the asset evaporates. No buyer touches that.
If it's built around a concept, a format, or a character that runs without you, the buyer can take it over and keep collecting. That's the channel worth real money. The kind you can hand to someone else and walk away from.
Most people build a job that happens to be on YouTube. The ones who understand this build an asset they can sell. Same effort. Completely different exit.
