The best comp I have for Duke and Boumtje Boumtje this year is 2014-15 Kentucky and Karl-Anthony Towns. The team is just so loaded that Boumtje can only play so much.
But even KAT and his 52% of minutes was a 2nd Team All-American. And JBB has a jumper already! And two years!
Impressive debut performance for Duke’s 17-year old Joaquim Boumtje-Boumtje
The 7-2, 250 pound 17 year old who played this past season at the youth level for FC Barcelona put in 19 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals on an efficient 7-11 shooting
Massive height advantage vs Belmont, took advantage of it, was aggressive from the jump, has a special combination of skill, motor, feel and physicality at his age and was dominant in just 22 minutes of action
going live on @CrazieCast right now to talk the Belmont exhibition! come join! @basket_review youtube.com/watch?v=dSkK9NsY…
gonna be posting my live thoughts on today's scrimmage over on the Basket Under Review discord. no better time to sign up!

Congress: "we need to save the integrity of the sport by making sure players are paid less!"
high-major coach for the third straight year: "ummm hey guys, I know our season starts in a few weeks, and you came here to play for me, but I'd rather be chilling at home so byeeeeeee"

Pat Ngongba in control of offense: initiate from high post, hit a pop 3, successful inverted pick-and-roll with Rippey
John Blackwell looked awesome as driver + off-ball mover
Dame Sarr aggressive as driver, got to the rim 3 time
Max Meyer gonna be good

Strong showing from DeRon Rippey Jr. in Duke’s scrimmage tonight: drive gaps in the half-court + spray out to shooters, absolute track star in the open floor and drilled the game-winning 3 curling off a down screen
