One more detail to clear up about our concept & url for The DuVernay Test-- the website was hijacked by racist trolls & so we had to shut it down. We decided to redirect the url to that Guardian article to give ppl the background on the idea. We chose that article because it:
Again, our concept for The DuVernay Test is not a copy of Nadia and Leila Latif's -- it's clear the 5 questions are not the same. No one test is perfect measurement of racial representation, but we hope all of the questions out there help people analyze media more critically.
Apparently someone has taken our branding and photoshopped @HerrDirector and @Leila_Latif 5 questions on it. We have never taken credit for their 5 questions — the Latif Test — we have only put forth the 5 questions pinned here ⬆️
These are 5 questions from @HerrDirector — please know this should be called the Latif Test! These are different from the 5 questions we developed for our version of a “DuVernay Test” (also a reminder, Ava has had nothing do with any of this!)

Thanks to all of you who continue to support the ideas behind The DuVernay Test & have been sharing our 5-questions. Equitable representation in Hollywood matters more than ever! #BlackLivesMatter
We salute all the Black, Indigenous, & People of Color who are on the frontlines of producing, writing, acting & directing to push the industry forward. It takes us all to change this system — including audiences who can vote with their clicks and dollars!
Our website was hijacked & trolled by a racist incel w/ a large following. They spammed the site with their hate, and because our site was without funds or a team, we had no effective way to be able to filter + moderate that shit 😤😡
