Books were pricey, so they pooled theirs. By 1731 that shelf had grown into the Library Company of Philadelphia. Homes kept burning, so by 1736 there was a volunteer fire company. Such civic. Very bucket.

Ben Franklin called it the Junto. A shoemaker. A surveyor. A glazier. A couple of printers. Nobody famous. Just neighbors who kept asking what their town needed, and why nobody was building it.

Governance for DuGs: Empowering Your Groups to Self-Govern Hey DuG community! We’re excited to begin our build of powerful new governance features on DuGs.App. These tools will let your Dogecoin User Groups make collective decisions, share leadership, and operate democratically. WHAT’S COMING? Built with a flexible constitution framework and coming soon to the app: • Assign or elect roles like admins and moderators. • Submit proposals for group-wide consensus votes. • Vote on treasury and fund decisions so every voice shapes how resources are used. • Quick poll voting for everyday choices and feedback. All powered by secure on-chain mechanics for decentralized, trustless, and verifiable results. WHY IT HELPS Decentralizing power creates stronger communities: • More stable growth with shared leadership and less founder dependence. • Higher engagement as members feel real ownership. • Greater transparency and trust through auditable decisions. • True autonomy so your DuG can adapt and scale independently. This is a major step for real community utility in Dogecoin. Tonight we’re hosting a space, a live Community Congress, to discuss how you would like us to shape these features for you. What features would you like to see? Share your ideas below!

NEW FEATURE: Private DuGs Are Now Live on DuGs.App!🔐 We’re excited to announce that Private DuGs are officially available, giving administrators powerful new privacy and security controls for their communities. Here’s what’s new: • Admin-Controlled Privacy: In your DuG Settings under “Privacy,” switch from Public to Private. New join requests now require admin approval, so you can vet members and keep your space trusted. • Protected Content: Member lists, event details, and all posts become visible only to approved members — keeping sensitive information secure from the public. • Hidden Discovery: Optionally make your DuG undiscoverable in map and list views. It can only be found by sharing its direct link. • Reversible with Safeguards: Admins can switch back to Public, but a 30-day delay applies with notifications to members, giving everyone time to leave if they prefer. Private DuGs empower Shibes to connect, build, and meet in safe, trusted environments that respect privacy and autonomy. Welcome to the next level of community control on DuGs.App. Find your Pack today!
