Today both @DrupalMedia media library and field widget got backported to Drupal 8.6.0-dev and @drupaldeploy workspaces module. Both are experimental modules. Woot! Both are planned to be part of the next tagged Drupal 8.6 pre-release for testing. Congrats to both teams!

In Drupal 8.5, the media module will be visible in the UI and easy to install for everybody. Huge thanks to all that helped make this possible. There is still a lot to do, but this is AWESOME! drupal.org/project/drupal/is…

Un-hide Media from the UI

As of 8.4, Media module is in core, but it is hidden by default in the modules UI. We need to resolve some other issues in order to turn it back on. Per https://www.drupal.org/project/ideas/issues/...
