The number of overdose deaths in the United States has seen a significant increase, and this trend is evident even in Oregon. Although Oregon stands as the sole state to pursue a distinctive approach by decriminalizing drugs, the rates of overdose deaths have risen in the other 49 states where criminal sanctions for drug possession are still in place.
