I did laddering, general sodding about, sweeping and teaing, with a side order of eating Large German Sausages for breakfast. I may also have achieved a few useful things too.
Trim Shop tidied, more painting finished, pillar drill & lathe moved to final positions and wiring progressed, recovered spares labelled and racked, CCTV upgrade wiring completed at the bottom of the shed, stripped equipment case moved for scrapping. #MinionsAtWork

Visible corrosion on the new Hitachi Intercity fleet already……. I say again these trains are appallingly designed and built. Britain got ripped off. Again.

We can, should and indeed must have nice things. This is one of them.
This week we'd like to share these fantastic photos of our Colne Valley Viaduct 📷👇. The viaduct is the longest railway bridge in the UK and one of the most significant structures on the HS2 route. Stretching 2.1 miles (3.4 km), it will carry the railway across the Colne Valley Regional Park, connecting London and the Midlands while carefully navigating one of the country’s most environmentally sensitive landscapes. Using my scope on my break earlier at Cannon St, I got these shots of @TheShardLondon . I wonder who the photographer was and if they caught me at the same time! 🤣

Easy to run a railway, is it? No it bloody isn’t. The mental gymnastics on display here are top drawer!
It's been a while since I wrote a little 'What a Route Controller gets up to' thread. Given I've spent tonight engaged in some unit-shuffling, now is as good a time as any! So, what have I been up to whilst you've all been asleep? Join me in the sunny South, and read on... 🧵

Spotted a bit of wheel slide there; m’lord must have a fairly busy wheel lathe.
The first episode of Chigley (the final series in the Trumptonshire trilogy) was originally broadcast on this day in 1969.
