Day 49 - took a side quest to slay the Tail of the Dragon. I let Myles drive us (FSD) through the 318 curves over 11 miles. I feel slightly robbed of the experience, and also slightly car sick.

Day 6 - it's slow going in the north. The driving and the charging. But I got to drive part of the Top of the World road, and even saw a grizzly with her 3 cubs. Tonight, I utilize camp mode?

This 2019 Model 3 RWD that @Drive_Protected recently gave away had the original NMC battery and rear motor after 381,000 miles (613,000 km). Even after all those miles, the battery retained 70% capacity. Eric’s brand new Model 3 Premium RWD includes the updated CATL LFP pack from China. IMO, the new car will exceed the 2019 performance fairly easily. If Eric’s team drives approximately ~567 miles per day (685km), they can reach 621K miles (1M kms) in about three years. Epic. What a challenge!
If you're interested in EV longevity, you'll want to see this. @Drive_Protected purchased this brand-new Model 3 Premium RWD and hired someone (as part of his YouTube series) to drive it to 1 million km (621,371 miles). They will drive it all over Canada and the U.S. nonstop to rack up as many miles as they can. He’s going to document it all, including how the Model 3 is performing. It will be an epic journey and a great showcase of how well these cars last after an incredible number of miles.

We bought the cheapest, brand new @Tesla Model 3 in Canada and hired someone full time to drive it to 1,000,000 kms. The Road To A Million starts today!! youtu.be/NQCb7rfuvHY?si=Iy9x…

So excited to bring you a build quality review on the @Rivian R2! Spoiler alert, they did an incredible job with this car! It’s been great to follow along with how quality control changes, part changes, and production ramp have all changed R1 since the beginning… Now it’s time to do the same with R2. Well done Rivian team, R2 feels solid!

Truck came back from an 1800 mile round-trip to Vegas yesterday. Encountered bugs, dirt roads, rain, etc. Didn’t take a “before” pic, but you can imagine. No car wash or high pressure spray needed. Washed it with ONR, microfibers and a bucket in the driveway. This is what @Drive_Protected PPF does. 20 minutes later, and crystal clean again. So good! Even coming up on 2 years.

Black is best for Cybertruck and I’ll argue that all day. ⁦@Drive_Protected⁩ is the best PPF for any car and I’ll argue that all day too. But for any painted vehicle, it’s always silver for the win 🙌

250,000 miles is honestly light work for Tesla motors. @Drive_Protected’s rear motor in his Model 3 is still going strong after almost 400,000 miles. The crazy part is it needed next to no maintenance, unlike all the things a gas car would have needed.
A Tesla is twice as likely to reach 250,000 miles as a Subaru

People always love to ask, "What are you going to do when the battery goes on your Tesla?" This 2019 Model 3 RWD owned by @Drive_Protected still had the ORIGINAL battery and rear motor after 381,000 miles (613,000 km). Even after all those miles, the battery retained 70% capacity. He decided to bring new life to the car by swapping the original NCA pack for a modern LFP pack from a newer Model 3. The original pack was still perfectly functional, the swap was just for performance. Swapping a battery in a Tesla is much quicker than people think. In just a few hours, the orginal battery was removed then replaced with a LFP pack. Once configured via the computer, the car is perfectly functional. There’s no huge mess, not a lot of wires, it’s actually very simple once you are experienced with it. His Model 3 now functions and charges like a newer car. Tesla vehicles are designed from the ground up to be very serviceable.

I'll forever be mind-blown by how @Drive_Protected’s 2019 Tesla Model 3 with nearly 400K miles is still running STRONG with the original rear motor. When you get under a Tesla and really take a look, it’s so simple. There are only about 20 moving parts in the drivetrain vs. 2,000+ in a gas car. This is just a better way to make a car.

This is the moment the Model 3’s battery unmounts from the car. All this happens very quickly. After removing ~35 bolts, the pack drops. Next, an LFP pack will be installed into this 2019 Model 3 with 381K miles. It’s pretty incredible how fast a swap takes. @Drive_Protected

Here is the ORIGINAL rear motor in @Drive_Protected’s high mileage 2019 Model 3 RWD with 381k miles. Keep in mind, this is a Canadian car with salty winters.
This 2019 Tesla Model 3 owned by @Drive_Protected has 381,069 miles (613,271 km) on the odometer. It’s on the original battery and rear motor. Today, it’s undergoing a LFP battery swap.

This is the condition of a 2019 Tesla Model 3’s seats after 381,069 miles. Incredible. Most other car manufacturers, such as Ford, General Motors, or Toyota, typically outsource seat production to specialized suppliers. Tesla makes its own seats in-house. @Drive_Protected

It is unreal how far behind American OEMs are when it comes to battery tech. Chinese companies over here pushing the envelope. Meanwhile pulling sub 100kW at 50% SOC is somehow “fine” If you want mass EV adoption, people need cars to recharge like gas cars, not just drive themselves.
