We are about to see one of the largest rain events that’s ever been triggered in the continental United States by a Pacific Hurricane. After making landfall in Baja California, the saturated remnants of former-Category 5 Hurricane Polo are going to inject a massive conveyor belt of deep, tropical moisture up through NW Mexico and into the U.S. South-Central Texas could be at the epicenter of the event, with isolated rain totals potentially reaching up to a FOOT this week.

Staten Island man struck by lightning while walking to a dentist appointment. Thomas Fahmy says he is grateful to be alive and went to church on Sunday to thank God for giving him another chance. "Once the lightning bolt struck me, the initial sensations that I had throughout my whole body were completely unprecedented; tingling, numbness, pain, just I feel this burning sensation." "No burns. I had multiple body exams; no burns at all. I went to church on Sunday to say thank you, God."

"Soccer, it brings us together, but Jesus satisfies us all." Former pro soccer player and Seattle Sounders chaplain Jesse Bradley says the U.S. Men's National Team's historic World Cup run is capturing attention not just because of the results, but because of the players' willingness to publicly share their faith. The Americans have won their first two World Cup group-stage matches for the first time since 1930, sparking excitement across the country. Bradley says the team's Bible studies, prayer gatherings, and message of unity are helping bring people together through a sport that's rapidly growing in the United States.

James Madison described the powers of the federal government as “few and defined” and those reserved to the states as “numerous and indefinite.” We’ve been dangerously drifting from that understanding since the 1930s. The drift has been most evident in areas now most fraught with waste, fraud, and abuse. If we honored the Constitution’s limits on federal power, there’d be very little waste, fraud, and abuse in our national government. Share if you’d like to see a “constitutional reset,” in which any government function that’s not obviously and necessarily federal under the Constitution would be returned “to the states respectively, or to the people,” as the Tenth Amendment specifies.

Theo Von posed the most beautifully vulnerable testimony to Roman 7. “Why is it so easy to do the things I don’t want to do, but a struggle to be who I want to be?” This is the nature of being human.

This is what it looks like when death loses its sting. It has no victory over this man. What a blessing that @BenSasse could share the truth and His light in this interview! God is good.
Extended interview: Former Nebraska senator Ben Sasse has metastatic pancreatic cancer. He spoke with 60 Minutes' Scott Pelley about where America has been and where it could still go.

Russell Brand dropped a raw truth on Megyn Kelly: Living the ultimate male fantasy — fame, money, endless women — felt “icky and death-like” in the moment. He realized he wasn’t chasing pleasure. He was creating suffering. What society sells as winning (conquest, status, constant adoration) turned out to be a hollow empire that chews people up and spits them out. Now he sees it as false idolatry. The real prize? Deep love, vulnerability, meaning, and choosing eternity over temporary highs. He chooses his wife, his kids, and real connection — even in his brokenness — over the old craving. Powerful stuff. When you look at what culture pushes as “success” for men, how often do you think it actually leads to fulfillment… versus quiet emptiness?

NEW: Oklahoma high school principal seen charging at and disarming a school shooter in footage obtained by @SHumphreyTV. Pauls Valley High School Principal Kirk Moore is being called a hero after getting shot while stopping a school shooter. The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Victor Hawkins, was a former student who said he wanted to shoot up the school “like the Columbine shooters did.” While taking down the shooter, Moore was shot in the leg. He is expected to recover and says he is looking forward to returning to work as soon as possible. "I look forward to returning to work as soon as possible so that I may continue my life’s work educating the next generation of Oklahoma leaders. Until then, my thoughts are with our outstanding students, safe today in the arms of their families and friends," he said. Hero!
