He/Him/His. If Jon Skeet is the Chuck Norris of C#, I want to be Bruce Lee, or at least the Court Jester. Opinions own and not those of Employer/OSS projects.

I'm not even mad someone made this.

Ok I'm allowed to be proud of this one.

SerializerFoundation v1.0.0 is out! It's the buffer layer behind the outstanding performance of MessagePack for C# v4, specialized per buffer type by the JIT with devirtualized and inlined calls. Useful for any binary protocol, not just serializers. github.com/Cysharp/Serialize…

... okay why does Microsoft seem to do some of the most tone deaf things related to communication around .NET around the release of a new version?

... Does anyone know how an OSS Developer can actually get in touch with someone at @databricks without having to use company email? Working on github.com/to11mtm/GlutenFre…; have questions about parameter limits for proper guarding, but the contact forms require a company email...

I had almost forgotten how bad Apache dotnet projects were at being Java-enterprise-esque with hiding implementation details others would find genuinely useful...

Nature is healing over on /r/moderndotnet - you can post about things you are actually building / interested in learning without the world's least competent .NET developers screaming at you We're up to about 200 members so far! (yes, I know I need to add logo and a backbar)

It used to be a historical landmark and national park space -first-, a tourist attraction second. And I'll burn my karma as saying, since a lot of the people making these dumb statements...

Pick A Fucking Lane Either it's a tourist trap that needs a lot of state subsidies to remain viable while enriching people, or it's something that should have remained pure and yall are asshats.

Sorry(not-sorry) and if anyone needs receipts for my claims of my family being in this state far longer than most of you (cause, I know that's a -thing- for some) I'll provide, While maintaining that Michigan is and should be kept as a place for all to enjoy and protect.

A few things struck me on my visit to the Island last year. Cause, before last year, the last time was when I was a child. So much more commercialism. The Ferry Cartel. All the now-claimed 'real estate space'. It feels more like a commercial park now, and that's sad.
This is video from AES's run for governor in 2018. Mackinac Island is a magical place for 50 weeks a year. Just not when politicians take over for the Mackinac Policy Conference or the Michigan Republican Convention. Loud, drunken crowds kill that magic.

I am slightly confused @DaveBondyTV. Your profile says you are an independent journalist but you are listed as the digital video and content creator for mackinac.org/about/staff/921 which the internet says is a conservative global think tank.

In fact Wikipedia states the Overton window comes from a former member. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mackin… Sooo can you be clear on your profile as far as your actual independence, or otherwise ask the MCfPP to correct their website please?

IDK Dave(y)... Sadly lots of corporate shops will suffer from this... And maybe they should but IDK if it's good for the .NET ecosystem viewpoint for them.

Esp because as we all know, AI is happy to just YOLO insecure Python/Node packages instead, and the Python/Node people will use the churn of upgrading a .NET version to stupidly say 'Just do a blind rewrite'. (Python and Node are fine, I just deal with lots of toxic devs lol)

Replying to @MladenMacanovic
@MladenMacanovic recognizes the power of @linq2db . Linq2Db provides an honest DSL and the contributing team is more responsive than others for workarounds or fixes. And hey, here's the "AI Agentic angle". And how to improve your own projects;
One of my biggest engineering regrets was choosing Entity Framework for a project years ago. I chose it because our customers had access to the source, and I thought EF would be more familiar. I optimized for familiarity over what I believed was the better technical choice.

Third, Even ignoring that it's the lowest friction ORM once you get semantics down. Raw ADO might be better for DB-Specific cases but when you need to generalize, Linq2Db still provides optimal productivity so long as you give it guide-points for your implementation.

Third-and-a-half, the guide points will get better at time with adoption, feedback, and improvement to their existing hinting. So, let's all help make @linq2db even better, so the community stops writing blogs for workarounds for EFCore deficiencies and instead being productive.
