I think back to this artwork sometimes and I look at it like a time capsule of a time where I was really excited for Superstars
Seeing what I interpreted as the next step forward for 2D sonic games and the excitement that came with it is interesting
Its easier to say today, now having many great 2D sonic fangames that try different ways of breaching that midpoint of recognizable, momentum based platforming and original concepts for the games identity to rest on. A few years ago? not exactly.
