This, and the pacing of this arc. The writing is obv leading up to the reveal of the 'mysterious' benefactor and how its going be another villain team up thing, but nothing has the time to breathe to make Blackwood feel like a threat worthy of a another arc

Blackwood mind control only lasted for a page or two. When they could've had Blaze a threat to the main cast to really sell how bad these people are and that the main cast have to be more cautious of their actions. And this is why idw sucks.

Basically Blackwood feels like a one-shot villian for a fun filler arc, not someone thats meant to return All this sequal baiting for an "epic villian team-up" when the story cant even make the villains feel impactful (besides Infinite, but im biased with him)
